Mina Starsiak went for a midcentury meets rustic look for her Good Bones clients’ space. A sleek walnut bed and vintage-looking leather pillow were given the farmhouse treatment with industrial display shelves and country-chic bedding. The eclectic gallery wall and shiplap wainscoting make the wood bed pop but could also be used as a headboard on their own.

Angular walls and a vaulted ceiling can make a room feel like a cozy clubhouse — especially when outfitted in floral motif wallpaper, like Ben and Erin Napier, hosts of Home Town, did here in their youngest daughter's bedroom. Using the extra space in their English countryside retreat's main bedroom, Ben and Erin built a dreamy library even Princess Belle would approve of. To let the Rocky Mountain landscape stand out in their Rock the Block main suite, Renovation Island hosts Sarah and Bryan Baeulmer chose a neutral color palette. Light wood beams, organic linen shades and warm tones in the walls and furniture perfectly complement the nature outside, while a grand headboard and chic seating area add a touch of luxury.

The standout feature in Farmhouse Fixer co-hosts Jon Knight and Kristina Crestin's Rock the Block main suite is the marble-like porcelain fireplace. Forest green wainscoting showcases the stone and brings a cozy chalet vibe to the space. To contrast the creamy white on the upper walls and ceiling, Jon and Kristina painted the trim the same woodsy green.

Vertical striped wallpaper and wood flooring are the perfect canvases for the midcentury-inspired main bedroom designed by Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent, hosts of The Nate and Jeremiah Project. A large dresser, floor-to-ceiling rust-colored curtains and a statement-worthy scalloped platform bed add function and warmth to the small bedroom. The team also incorporated lighting fixtures that include hanging glass pendants over each bedside table and a colorful era-appropriate light over the bed.

“Here I wanted romance, so I have curtains and French doors that I can open to hear the birds,” Hilary Farr of Love It or List It tells HGTV Magazine of her own bedroom renovation. She hung drapes made with fabric from her collection with Covington and cut a screen she found at a local antiques store into a triptych as wall art. The bedding is from Peacock Alley.

The doors are vintage, found by a friend who’s a professional picker. "I love how the wallpaper on the ceiling, by Wallshoppe, makes the whole room feel cozy," Jasmine told HGTV Magazine. "The smaller-scale gingham wallpaper in Hazel’s area echoes the plaid on the ceiling."

Jonathan Scott chose a more traditional route for the main bedroom in his Brother vs. Brother Season 8 house. He opted for an upholstered denim blue bed, comfy red bench, and Persian rug to fit the style of the rest of the home, which he describes as “modern cottage.” French doors lead out to a backyard oasis.

For their Rock the Block Season 3 main suite, Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas of Bargain Block were challenged with incorporating a material representative of Charleston, South Carolina, into their design. Keith chose sail fabric as a nod to the coastal town’s boating culture, then folded and stapled the material to the wall in a shape reminiscent of Van Gogh’s starry night. Boho furnishings and textures add beachy flair.

Keith and Evan thought of everything for their Rock the Block F.R.O.G. space (aka the finished room over the garage). A stylish kitchenette complete with emerald green tile and a robin’s-egg blue fridge, a quaint cafe table and a fun mini seating area offer both style and convenience for guests. “When [I] walked up to your F.R.O.G., [I] felt instantly transported; it felt like a small boutique hotel,” said judge and Season 2 competitor Jeremiah Brent.

Alison Victoria’s Season 3 Battle on the Beach team, Pete Meldrum and Ben Argall, skipped paint and wallpaper in favor of a custom feature wall. They crafted the eye-catching “X” shape out of different sized pieces of wood, then used black and white paints to make the wall more dynamic. They also repurposed an antique door into a sliding barn door to add value and personality to the space.

The main bedroom in Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson's winning house from Rock the Block Season 3 has us feeling anything but blue. Taking inspiration from the home's coastal locale, Egypt and Mike painted the entire room (ceilings included) a soft blue reminiscent of the ocean on a sunny day. The antique doors were a big financial and labor investment — Egypt hand-applied the wax finish — but they paid off in show-stopping looks. A capiz shell chandelier rounds out the seaside theme.

Instead of spending on a headboard for these first-time homeowners' quaint primary bedroom, Egypt opted to paint one onto the wall. The bright pop of color packs a punch without taking up any space. Lighting embedded beneath the floating shelf sets the mood. “The main bedroom has to have a sanctuary-like feeling,” Page said. “You spend a lot of time in here — really, more than you spend anywhere else in your house."

Down Home Fab hosts Chelsea and Cole DeBoer used all of their signature tricks to make this bedroom feel like a trendy hotel. The dark color palette adds drama, while a plush rug and furry bedding create coziness. Sleek sconces that swing around bring a touch of mod elegance. Cole constructed the slat wall out of pre-cut pine pieces, then painted them a deep green.

Ty Pennington's Season 3 of Battle on the Beach team, Ashley Basnight and Steve Lewis, had a clear vision when planning their main bedroom: Create a sexy, yet serene escape. They pulled off their goal by crafting a custom bed out of antique hurricane shutters. It takes center stage in their design. Plants placed around the space and on the balcony add to the relaxing ambiance.

What was once a cramped and mishmashed space became a polished cabin bedroom thanks to The Flipping El Moussa’s Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa. Smart moves like swapping lamps for sconces and using petite nightstands with accessible storage made the most of the small space, while plaid wallpaper, sage green walls and modern rustic bedding create the perfect amount of woodsy charm.
