Christina Hall Heads to Tennessee
Designer Christina Hall is used to renovating beachy California homes with husband Josh Hall in her show Christina on the Coast. In her new series, Christina in the Country, she expands her design business and connects with family, new friends and her Southern side in Tennessee — all while blending her signature modern aesthetic with a little bit of Southern charm. In the Living Room: A Country-Chic Vibe
It's cozy and relaxing! Christina opened up this living room to create more space for the family. She also installed low, built-in cabinets for plenty of storage, new flooring, a stone accent wall and a light stone mantle (adding to the country-chic).

In the Living Room: White and Black
After this A-frame home was damaged in a fire, Christina’s team extended the ceiling and walls into what was previously a covered porch area to give the living area and kitchen more space. Then, she went with a sleek back-and-white color palette. Light furnishings contrast with dark paint around the fireplace and on the walls. A mix of natural textures pulls it all together.

In the Living Room: A Super-Cool Bar
Homeowners who like to host will love this idea. Complete with a floating rack, butcher block counters, dark tiles and bar stools to offset white walls, this rustic, country-themed bar off the main living space of this home is an entertainer's dream come true.

“We’ve never done a kitchen this dark before,” Christina said. “It definitely couldn’t work in every house, but the fact that you’re surrounded by nature, it brings it in and it makes it warm and inviting even though it’s so moody.”

In the Kitchen: Optimized Storage and Seating
This dream kitchen got a major reno. Christina prioritized storage by removing crown molding to add cabinets (ditching the old orang-y ones for bright white). She also replaced an awkward peninsula with an island and bar seating.

In the Kitchen: A Decorative Bar Area
Christina turned a blah wet bar into a classy spot to mix up some cocktails. The show-stopping Calacatta marble slab was also used for the kitchen countertops and backsplash creating a pleasing continuity.

In the Kitchen: Quartz Everything
Christina went with chic quartz for the countertops and backsplash. “Not only is this (quartz) beautiful and looks really picturesque, it’s durable,” she said. White cabinets with brushed-nickel pulls and a spacious island round out this “light, bright and fabulous” space.

The cabinets in this cook space boast a deep, contemporary shade of green, which Christina carried into the side of the island, which is a functional focal point of this airy kitchen.

Christina worked with homeowners Nick and Kristen to select design materials to tie their renovations together, including tiles for the mudroom and brushed brass pull handles.
