Step Inside the 2017 Kips Bay Decorator Show House

See work from top designers at one of the country's premier decorator showcases.

If you're in New York City for the long holiday weekend and love design, you still have a chance to visit the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, which is open through June 6.

For those of us not lucky enough to attend, here's a peek into the Lenox Hill townhome that plays host to the 45th edition of one of the nation's premier designer showcases.

Designers Kirsten Fitzgibbons and Kelli Ford brought light and glamour to their drawing room. Making use of the the room's "fifth wall," the pair painted the ceiling a deep blue while keeping the rest of the space bright with a Phillip Jeffries St. Barts Serenity wallcovering. A Kelly Wearstler chandelier and Kurt Pio diamond artwork add a little touch of bling to the room.

Cabinetry craftsmen Robert Bakes and Paul Kropp kept things simple and elegant in the home's kitchen, selecting gray and white cabinetry to set the palette for the room. Metallic barstools trimmed in blue upholstery collaborate with the room's lighting to add some sparkle to the space.

A team from Powell & Bonnell selected a sculptural art installation by Zac Ridgely for the ceiling of the entryway to conceal pipework in the ceiling and add a modern complement to the ornate wrought-iron stairwell railing, seen at right.

The airy nature of Dineen Architecture + Design's bedroom is the perfect foil to the pattern- and color-heavy nature of the home's other rooms. In the sitting area of the room, a mural treatment by Eva Buchmuller gives depth to the walls. At left, a swing hung from the ceiling adds to the ethereal feel of the room.
