Bio
Deanne is an award-winning travel journalist and host based in Seattle, Washington. Her favorite plant is lamb’s ear, and while she’s not a big crafter, she does scour the internet for the best deals, design trends and gifts in her weekly articles for HGTV.com. Deanne is a huge Harry Potter fan, coffee lover and has the travel bug bad. When not on assignment, you can find Deanne scouring the Puget Sound for the best soft serve ice cream and making core memories with her dog.
Experience
Deanne has written and edited lifestyle content for a variety of online publications, such as Food Network, HGTV, Allrecipes, Southern Living, Travel Channel, Fodor's Travel and Condé Nast Traveler. She started her career at Cooking Light and MyRecipes.com before jumping into the home and travel beats of lifestyle media at HGTV, DIY Network, and then Travel Channel and Great American Country. In 2017, Deanne made the leap to freelancing full-time, where she focuses on travel and uplifting LGBTQ+ voices.
Education
Deanne attended The Savannah College of Art and Design, where she earned a degree in writing and served as the editor-in-chief of District, SCAD's student newspaper, a part of The Huffington Post College Network. She also hosted a weekly radio show for SCAD Radio.
