Ian Claro

Bio

Ian Claro is a New-York-based entertainment writer, editor, and marketing copywriter. He’s worked in various creative and strategic roles for everyone from local businesses to best-selling authors to Fortune 500 companies. Whether it’s a 2010s sitcom, Knicks game, or JRPG, his TV is always on (except when he’s writing, of course).

Highlights

In the three years since completing his undergraduate degree, Ian’s been employed by a wide array of clients. He worked at Google as a community development associate in the months leading up to their annual I/O conference. Following the release of The Anxious Generation, he was enlisted by New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Haidt as a video editor for social media content. He really knew he made it when he had the privilege of writing a promotional piece for Superman (his favorite movie of 2025).

Education

Ian graduated summa cum laude from Hunter College in 2023 where he received a B.A. in media analysis & criticism with a minor in classical studies. While at Hunter, Ian was named a Mellon Scholar under the Mellon Public Humanities and Social Justice Program. His thesis project, Social Justice and the NBA, explored the history of activism in professional basketball from the Civil Rights Era to the murder of George Floyd. In addition to a 32-page paper, Ian recorded an accompanying 35-minute podcast focusing on NBA activism in the social media era.
