Our Fave Movie Closets + Their HGTV Look-alikes
Because luxurious closets aren't only for the big screen.
"Sex and the City"
Most likely when you think of fab movie closets, you think of Carrie Bradshaw's incredible, apartment-sized setup from "Sex and the City." Colorful and chock full of designer duds, that closet makes it hard not to be envious of Sarah Jessica Parker's infamous character at some point, right?
Purple walls, plenty of shelves for shoes and smart adjustable shelving make me think Carrie would be equally happy in this whimsical space.
"Sex and the City 2"
Of course, just when you thought it couldn't get any better for Miss Bradshaw, enter "Sex and the City 2." This closet is a more sophisticated space for a married lady, separated with sides for her and him. But the best part? ALL. THAT. SPACE.
Spacious Contemporary Walk-In Master Closet With Wood Cabinetry
Organization is the priority in this long master closet with sliding frosted glass doors. Several areas provide space for hanging clothing and storing accessories. Recessed lighting and a simple vase with plant arrangement decorate the space's dark wood interior.
This master closet by Dandenberg Design gives off a similar vibe with floor-to-ceiling cherry cabinetry, frosted glass doors and enough storage space for a family of twenty (or maybe just Carrie and Mr. Big).
"13 Going on 30"
Remember the scene when Jennifer Garner's character is slowly realizing she's not 13 anymore? She was a bit freaked out. And then she saw this closet. If being 30 means you get that closet, please sign me up immediately.
What was so thrilling about Jenna Brink's grown-up closet? The shoes! This sweet space also offers plenty of shoe storage with the option of letting your special someone share half the space...OR you could just use the entire room for shoes. Jenna would.
Okay, to all my fellow '90s kids out there: Who wasn't jealous of Cher's totally incredible closet in "Clueless"? The highlight, of course, was her state-of-the-art computer program that allowed her to pick out perfectly-coordinated outfits, but her color-coordinated clothing is pretty impressive, too.
The green and white details in this closet are totally reminiscent of '90s prep, and with so many rods for hanging clothes, Cher's morning routine could be even more seamless...as if!
"Confessions of a Shopaholic"
Okay, so Rebecca Bloomwood has a problem. But her closet is so adorable! Yeah, it's a mess, but would you look at that dresser!?
Cluttered, Full Closet With Hanging Clothes and Shoe Shelves
A great way to declutter your home is to get rid of clothing you're not wearing. Donate or sell any items of clothing you've had for more than a year without wearing. You'll clear out much needed space in your closet allowing you to be better organized and have easier access to the items you do use.
Let's just embrace the mess for a minute and focus on the colors. So many hues in so many patterns! This makeshift closet totally channels Rebecca and her ability to keep adding fabulous items to her chaotic but colorful space.
"The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement"
I'm not really feeling the matching outfits (Mia is no Cher after all!), but I can totally get on board with this regal closet. With those incredible rods, you could prep entire outfits for weeks at a time. What a dream!
White Traditional Woman's Walk In Closet
This walk in closet has no lack of storage. The large open shelving unit has cabinets of varying sizes perfect for displaying these pink garments. A matching island set of drawers with a mauve countertop sits in the middle of the neutral carpet. Floor-length neutral curtains with gold design hang at the window.

Crown molding, gold accents and all the pink matching outfits you could ever hope for, this closet says Princess Mia Thermopolis all over it.
"The Nanny Diaries"
Unfortunately for Scarlett Johansson’s character, Annie, this decadent closet does not belong to her. But we can't blame her for ogling the over-the-top space. I mean, it's definitely bigger than her nanny quarters!
This boutique-style closet could definitely give Mrs. X's closet a run for its money. Maple cabinetry, crown molding and wood floors? Swoon.
"The Great Gatsby"
This closet is everything. Two stories with a spiral staircase and enough room to fit an enormous bed in the center, it's basically the closet I plan to have once I'm totally flush. Leonardo DiCaprio can live there, too.
Two-Story Walk-In Closet With Bronze Chandelier
This stunning two-story walk-in closet looks more like a high-end department store. LED light panels, inspired from high-end retailers, turn the impressive collection of shoes and bags into an artful display. Layers of thin bronze chain create a striking chandelier that is as elegant as it is edgy.
This closet designed by Angelica Henry Design is nicer than any store I've ever shopped in, and I think ol' Jay Gatsby would be very comfortable here, assuming the heels and handbags belonged to Daisy.
"The Bling Ring"
The movie about wealthy kids robbing from the rich and famous is actually based on a true story. Since they started their crime spree at Paris Hilton's house, the stylish starlet was kind enough to let the movie crew use her real-life closet, which just so happens to house enough stilettos for every celebrity in Hollywood.
Designer to the stars, Lisa Adams, created this stunning space for a client who would undoubtedly be able to bond with Hilton over a shared love of shoes. Rows upon rows of shoes.
