Spanish-style bathrooms can add plenty of flair and style to a home. You can design one to create a soothing bath space for guests and family alike.

Spanish-style bathrooms are often designed in the vein of the broader Mediterranean style, which began in the northern coastal countries of the Mediterranean, stretching from Spain all the way to Turkey. Spanish style incorporates distinctive features like terra cotta tiles and the use of bold red, yellow and orange hues.

Spanish-style bathrooms often feature copious use of tile in multiple locations, from walls to flooring options. Tiles in Spanish-style bathrooms may be traditional terra cotta, or they may take the form of ornate backsplashes or whole walls of intricate, beautiful mosaic tile.

Bright and sunny colors are featured prominently in Spanish-style bathrooms, with yellows, oranges and reds prevalent. Bright white color schemes are also quite common.

Curving or arched architecture, a relic of Spain's Moorish history, may be featured in doorways or entrances to showers and toilet stalls. This flowing, curved style can also be reflected in the design of elements such mirrors or furniture.
