About the Team

Get to know the writers and editors of HGTV's blog, I Heart HGTV.

Alley Loope

Alley is an editorial intern at HGTV.com, as well as a self-proclaimed cupcake connoisseur with an unbridled passion for crafting. When she’s not curating Pinterest recipes or binge watching House Hunters and Fixer Upper, you can probably find her at a concert or at home tending to her beloved cat, Hedwig.

Allie Holcomb King

Allie is a contributing writer for HGTV.com. When she’s not writing, you can find her working on a home-improvement project with her husband or playing with their adopted pup, Hadley. She loves decorating — and then decorating again — which means she’s always on the hunt for a great deal. Her best Saturdays include a new book and a new recipe.

Beth Rucker

Beth is the managing editor for photography at HGTV.com. She's been in love with home design ever since her mother took her to her first home tour at age 2 and loves learning the story behind every gorgeous space. She's currently living out of boxes while renovating her own hundred-year-old Queen Anne bungalow.

Bridget Mallon

Bridget is the online editor for HGTV Magazine. When she's not covering the latest in swoon-worthy decor trends, you can find her organizing her barmoire (an old armoire turned home bar), filling her tiny NYC apartment with metallic accessories or getting lost in a bookstore.

Chelsea Faulkner

Chelsea is a design and entertaining editor for HGTV.com, a wannabe historian and an admirer of cozy, traditional interiors. In her spare time, you'll find her up to her elbows in potting soil, binging a new podcast series, or on the hunt for creative ways to keep a toddler entertained. Other interests include: Karaoke, freezer meals and perfecting her iced coffee recipe.

Chrissy Giglio

Chrissy is a contributing writer for HGTV.com. When she's not scrolling through social media getting major interior envy, she's stopping in stores throughout NYC looking for the latest local designers who are making awesome things. With a collection of foreign edition books and a love of minimalist design, she's always searching for new ways to style her space.

Danasia Fantastic

Danasia Fantastic is a contributing writer for HGTV and Travel Channel. Danasia can normally be found at a coffee shop writing for HGTV or for her travel and design blog, TheUrbanRealist. She spends her weekends shopping for vintage home decor at thrift stores and looking for affordable international flights on her phone.

David L. Haynes

David is an editor for HGTV.com. Some of his past pursuits include working for the book publishing division of a Southern media company, writing about music and entertainment for an alternative newsweekly and doing PR and media-related stuff for an indie interactive-games developer. He currently resides in a 19th-century foursquare which he and his wife are gradually renovating, thereby − though not entirely by design − adopting HGTV's lifestyle credo: "Live the brand."

Erica Reitman

Erica is a straight-talking interior designer who recently moved from Brooklyn to LA. On the weekends, you can find her scouring local flea markets for her clients or hard at work on her "remedial" DIY projects. She loves anything and everything vintage and collects wallpaper swatches like they were family photos (much to the dismay of her actual family). She lives with her husband and her basset hound, Oliver, in a midcentury home that they are currently renovating.

Farima Alavi

Farima is a writer and editor for HGTV.com. She's all about color when it comes to decorating and believes the right color combination can positively affect your mood. When she's not on the lookout for the latest trends, you can find her hiking with her Yorkie, Rosie, trying the newest restaurant in town and cheering on the Tennessee Vols and Alabama Crimson Tide football teams.

Katie Friedman

Katie is a contributing writer for HGTV and Travel Channel. She's fascinated by all things pop culture & loves keeping an eye on the latest trends, which means that she's up to speed on everything from celebrity gossip to Pantone's Color of the Year. When she's not reading headlines or writing her own, she can be found testing wellness products or smart storage solutions in her adorable rental.

Kayla Kitts

Kayla is the managing editor for commerce across HGTV and Trvl Channel. Kayla resides in a charming, 70-year-old home in East Atlanta with her husband, son and three adopted pets — two cats, one dog. When she's not writing and sourcing products, you can probably find her at the dog park or reorganizing her home for the millionth time this year.

Kelly Smith Trimble

Kelly is the senior editorial director for HGTV.com and author of the book "Vegetable Gardening Wisdom." A master gardener, she focuses on growing vegetables, cooking and preserving. Kelly also spends her time hiking, backpacking and doing almost anything else outdoors. She likes vintage and eclectic design where everything has a story.

Keri Sanders

Keri is an editor at HGTV.com and an aspiring Renaissance woman. Favorite activities include scouring the web for new design ideas, continuing her quest for the world’s greatest barbecue or scoring deals at local thrift stores. She's a haggler extraordinaire, a vagabond wannabe and a lousy cook (but learning!).

Lauren Oster

Lauren is a contributing writer to HGTV.com. After spending the first years of her career at Redbook, covering everything from entertainment and entertaining to health and travel, she now covers those beats (and contributes personal essays and pop culture pieces) around the web and in print. You can find some of her recent clips here.

Liz Gray

Liz is a special projects managing editor for HGTV.com and is the co-editor-in-chief of the I Heart HGTV blog. She lives in a midcentury tri-level that she's (slowly) remodeling alongside her husband and her mystery-breed puppy. Other interests include: Mad scientist-style recipe experiments, impractical hats and anything Danish modern.

Louis Baragona

Louis Baragona is a Brooklyn-based contributing writer for HGTV.com with an affinity for baby's breath, throw pillows and anything gold or shiny. When not playing a low-stakes version of House Hunters by lustfully admiring apartments and Airbnbs online, Louis can be found Tweeting about his many misadventures, checking out his options on Seamless and wondering why he covered his room in white furniture and accessories.

Maria Conti

Maria is a contributing writer for HGTV and Travel Channel. She’s a self-proclaimed astrology guru with a penchant for Old Hollywood glamour and a ginger jar collection that grows larger by the day. When she’s not writing about interiors online, Maria’s putting her design chops to use while renovating the 1980’s colonial home she shares with her husband and two pups in Charlotte, North Carolina. Get the scoop on her latest projects and lifestyle essentials on her blog, mariaconti.co.

Molly Miller

Molly is the Assistant Editor for HGTV and Travel Channel. She enjoys writing about fashion, travel, family life and home decor on her personal blog, Delight. Molly owns an inordinate amount of rattan furniture and brass decor, much to her husband’s dismay, and refuses to stop buying more. For her, a weekend well-spent includes enjoying a cocktail on a patio, leisurely walks downtown and quality time with her two kiddos.

Ryan Reed

Ryan is an editor at HGTV.com. He's a Maryland native with a passion for double porches, bourbon and Fixer Upper. When he's not channeling his inner-Chip Gaines around the house, he enjoys traveling, eating barbecue and chasing after his two adopted dogs.

Shannon Petrie

Shannon is a managing editor at HGTV.com, a new homeowner and an obsessive organizer. (Friends fans would call her “a Monica.”) In her spare time, she’s slowly decorating her '80s ranch house with a mix of budget purchases and free vintage finds from her grandmother's garage. Her other hobbies include traveling, hiking, cooking, and playing with her two rescue Chihuahuas.
