How to Create the Coziest, Boho-Inspired Nursery of Your Baby's Dreams

Plushness is a must.

The bohemian design trend isn't going anywhere. And as a self-proclaimed boho addict, this makes me very happy.

It's easy to add global-inspired bohemian touches throughout your home. But if you want to go all in on the trend, say, in your baby's nursery, we've got you covered. While you definitely don't need everything on the list below, try choosing some of your favorites, then mix and match to create a unique, eclectic nursery of your dreams.

1: Plants

If you don't have a green thumb, you can always go faux, like this silk cacti. Faux plants have really come a long way, so if you find a good one, you'll likely fool everyone.

2: Braided Basket

Braided baskets in all shapes and sizes scream boho, and they’re a great accessory to use in your child's nursery. Larger baskets can hold toys or extra blankets, and smaller baskets can store extra diapers or burp cloths. For a more eclectic look, you can use a variety of baskets. But if you prefer things to look a bit more uniform, choose multiples of the same basket.

3: Wall Tapestry

Wall tapestries come in many different styles and sizes, and they work beautifully in a boho-inspired nursery. You can use them in place of artwork or in addition to other pieces on a gallery wall.

When choosing bedding for your crib, you can get into the bohemian spirit by picking sheets that have more of a tribal-inspired look. Don’t be afraid to mix and match; simply combine two patterns or styles to bring a more unique look to your space.

5: Vintage-Inspired Kilim Rug

Bring in a bit of boho to your nursery by choosing a vintage-inspired rug. The pattern will easily hide any scuffs or dirt, especially when your child starts crawling and walking. If you fall in love with a brand-new rug but it’s just a bit too pricey, choose a smaller size then layer it on top of a less expensive jute or sisal rug.

Have some fun with your artwork and opt for pieces with bright colors and interesting patterns. You can even get creative and frame a favorite piece of fabric, an old scarf or a vintage textile.

This set of five plant hangers would look amazing in a nursery. You could easily fill them with easy-to-manage plants, or switch out the plants for baskets and store baby's extra cloths, wipes and other essentials.

8: Pom Pom Throw

Both pom poms and tassels work perfectly with the bohemian vibe. This pom pom-edged blanket is a great choice for your child's nursery, as it will blend seamlessly with any color palette you choose.

9: Floor Pillows

Floor pillows are another great way to make your space feel more bohemian and global-inspired. Depending on the size of your space, you can use several pillows to create an additional hang-out zone. And as your baby grows, they will serve as a fun spot to read a book or play.

10: Faux Sheepskin

Using faux sheepskin throws around your nursery is a great trick for adding texture. You can put one on the back of a chair, on a daybed or layered as a rug.

Choose a lighting fixture like this wooden bead chandelier, and you’ll immediately bring in that boho feel. You could even add a bit more inspiration by hanging tassels from your fixture. Choose a soft, LED light to ensure that your space feels warm and cozy.
