Watch a Sneak Peek: 'Rock the Block' Returns to HGTV for Season 5

It's Rock the Block like we've never seen it before. Here's everything you need to know about Season 5.

Updated on March 01, 2024

It's Rock the Block like we've never seen it before. For the first time in the show's history, four teams will get a shot at redemption. During seven hour-long episodes — hosted by carpenter, craftsman and design guru Ty Pennington (Battle on the Beach) — the pressure will be at an all-time high as HGTV powerhouse duos return to the Block seeking a renovation showdown to settle old scores and achieve victory — winning bragging rights and a street named in their honor.

Rock the Block Season 5 premieres on HGTV Monday, March 4 at 9|8c.

What's Different About This Season?

There's another twist, too: The houses up for renovation are attached waterfront homes located in Treasure Island, Florida, which we're sure will make for some pretty coastal-creative home ideas.

Each team will have just six weeks and a budget of $250,000 to renovate attached waterfront homes, each featuring a pool, boat dock and dazzling views of Boca Ciega Bay, and transform them into luxurious homes that reflect their signature vision and stunning design style.

Who Are the Season 5 Teams?

Competitors will include renovation aces Bryan and Sarah Baeumler (Battle on the Beach); home renovation visionaries and partners Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block); dynamic twin sisters and real estate and design experts Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis (Unsellable Houses); and billion-dollar real estate broker and house-flipping expert Page Turner and contractor extraordinaire Mitch Glew (Fix My Flip).

In the first episode, former Rock the Block Season 3 champs, real estate broker and designer Egypt Sherrod and her husband, expert builder Mike Jackson (Married to Real Estate), will tour the kitchen and dining spaces to determine the winning reno. Throughout the season, more HGTV stars will stop by to judge: Season 2 Rock the Block winners, Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt (100 Day Dream Home); Kristina Crestin (Farmhouse Fixer); Veronica Valencia (Revealed) and reigning Rock the Block champion Michel Smith Boyd (Luxe for Less). The season’s finale episode will conclude with Property Brothers star and home renovation expert Jonathan Scott, who will tour and deliberate each home’s overall look and then rejoin Ty to announce the winning team.

“This season’s expert teams know what it takes to compete on the block, so we’ll keep them on their toes and crank up the intensity with unexpected new challenges. Our stars are ready for a rematch and won’t hold back to win it all," says Loren Ruch, head of content, HGTV.

Stream the first four seasons of Rock the Block on Max. Stay tuned for more new season updates on HGTV’s digital platforms at and via @HGTV and #RocktheBlock on Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, TikTok and Threads.
