David is a writer and contributor for HGTV with 25+ years of experience creating online content for the brands HGTV and the DIY Network. As editor with HGTV he has overseen the creation and publication of editorial content associated with numerous high-profile HGTV programs including Fixer Upper, Home Town, Good Bones, Property Brothers, Brother vs. Brother, My Lottery Dream Home, Love It or List It, Windy City Rehab, Renovation Island, Million Dollar Rooms, A Very Brady Renovation, White House Christmas and others. He has also contributed online articles, photo galleries and video for such HGTV programs as Fixer to Fabulous, Small Town Potential, Celebrity IOU and many others. For DIY Network he wrote and created content for more than 65 series including Kitchen Cousins, America’s Most Desperate Kitchens, Blog Cabin, I Want That, Renovation Realities: Dale Junior & Amy and America’s Most Desperate Landscape. In addition, he provided online editorial and how-to materials for such early DIY programs as DIY Woodworking, Wood Works and DIY Car Care & Repair. He is based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Experience
Prior to his work with HGTV, David worked in marketing and media relations for the indie gaming and software developer CyberFlix – writing web copy, press releases, production notes, product descriptions, marketing info and other descriptive print materials. Publicity efforts resulted in company and product coverage in numerous national publications including Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, Wired, The New York Times, The Washington Post, People, Playboy, Southern Living and ArtForum. TV network and cable television coverage included Good Morning America, The Discovery Channel, MSNBC, F/X Television and others.
David also worked as an assistant editor with the book-publishing division of the southern media company Whittle Communications. In that role he assisted in the review and evaluation of book manuscripts and proposals as well as participating in the development of book/series topics and identifying potential contributing authors.

Education
David received his B.A. from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee (formerly Southwestern at Memphis) with a major in biology with a minor in English and literature. While there, he spent a summer studying abroad at St. John's college as part of the British Studies at Oxford program administered by Rhodes. He did his masters work at the University of Tennessee Knoxville College of Communications, majoring in journalism with emphasis in magazine writing and photojournalism.
