Nursery Number Three

At eight-and-a-half months pregnant, Jasmine Roth pulled off what some might consider a feat: She finished creating her third daughter Chloe Lou's nursery before giving birth. The Roast My Rental designer and her husband, Brett, were using the room as a storage closet before the makeover — but, of course, Jasmine knew exactly how to maximize functionality and style to make the square footage work. “I went with a ‘Soft Grand Millennial meets Modern English Country,’” she wrote in an Instagram post. The layered design boasts swaths of texture — grass cloth, velvet and rattan— as well as muted shades of pink (“Pink, but not too pink!”), taupe and green. Let’s take a closer look.

Starting From Scratch

The space had good bones. The walls were already covered in taupe-colored seagrass wallpaper. White oak built-ins patiently waited for Chloe's clothing to arrive. Jasmine swapped the existing can lighting for custom brass fixtures, which "makes [the space] feel really soft and warm," she explains. Over the room's window, Jasmine installed a Savannah-style valance and dramatic floor-to-ceiling curtains in cream. Fun fact: Jasmine puts a mirror in all of her kids' rooms. "They reflect light, and the girls and I love to take mirror selfies," she says.

Changing Table Today, Dresser Tomorrow

The sage green McGee & Co. dresser isn't technically a changing table, but it does the trick (and will remain in Chloe's room long after she's done with diapers). Above the dresser hangs a vintage quilt Jasmine ordered from Etsy and had framed. A rattan mobile floats over the changing area because "the crib is for sleeping. You really need to distract your baby when you're changing diapers," Jasmine laughs.

Hanging Storage in Jasmine's Nursery

A hook wall offers easy access to everyday items while maximizing storage. "This part of the nursery will grow with [Chloe]," says Jasmine. "As she gets older, we can hang different toys and different clothes."

An East Coast Callback

A brass-look crib adds vintage charm to the nursery. Jasmine and Brett tapped an artist from Massachusetts — where the couple met while attending college — to create the trio of abstract pieces above the crib.

A Relaxing Nursing Corner

Jasmine loves the Babyletto nursery chair in Darla's room so much that she bought it again for Chloe's nursery. This one is cream to match the curtains.
