Materials + Tools

  • page protector
  • sewing machine
  • scrapbook paper
  • sequins
  • scissors
  • hole punch
  • yarn

Sew Page Protector

Use a sewing machine to sew a rectangle into a page protector, leaving the top open. Cut it out, leaving a small border around your stitches.

Make Confetti

Make confetti by cutting scrapbook paper into small pieces. Optionally, use fringe scissors to cut more at once. Add sequins and any other small findings to your confetti.

Fill Bookmark

Fill the bookmark with confetti, using a funnel if needed. Sew the top of the bookmark closed.

Add a Tassel

Punch a hole in the top of the bookmark. Make a tassel out of yarn and tie it on.

Make a Notebook

Use this same method to make a notebook by sewing one side of a page protector to folded scrapbook paper. Fill with confetti and sew closed. Cut and fold paper to fit inside and staple your notebook together.

Make a Magnet

Make a magnet by tracing a simple shape like a star onto your page protector using a white paint pen. Sew half of the star closed and fill with confetti. Sew the other half closed and use packing tape to add a magnet to the back.
