So, it's no surprise HGTV stars are chock-full of creative beach house designs. Hosts of Renovation Island, Sarah and Bryan Baeumler put their beach resort expertise to good use in their Season 5 of Rock the Block house. The outdoor kitchen features a U-shaped concrete-slab bar cast to look like live-edge wood, an iron teppanyaki grill and plenty of seating to host guests for dinner and a show.

Page Turner and Mitch Glew designed the main suite in their Season 5 Rock the Block house in Treasure Island, Florida, with a 5-star resort in mind. The Fix My Flip team built a platform that literally elevates the cushiony round bed and added a rug for coziness. Warm hardwood floors contrast the creamy white walls, and neutral oversized pendants serve as beachy bedside lighting.

It's clear why twins and hosts of Unsellable Houses, Leslie Davis and Lyndsay Lamb, were crowned the winners of Rock the Block Season 5. Their bright, boho kitchen design encapsulates the feel of the entire Treasure Island, Florida, house. “It is a mood, it is a vibe, it is relaxation — but still high-end,” said Lyndsay. Five woven pendants hanging over the kitchen island create an immediate "wow" moment, while a rich jade hue and deep wooden cabinets elevate the space and keep it tropical.

For the main suite in their Rock the Block Season 5 house, Leslie and Lyndsay used organic materials and neutral colors to create a peaceful escape. A curved feature wall with a hammock hung as art acts as the headboard. Fringed pendants and wall art carry the sandy, natural feel of the beach into the bedroom.

A trip to the beach influenced the color palette in Good Bones host Karen E Laine's Wilmington, North Carolina, kitchen. She stained the cabinets a shade inspired by gray seashells. To mimic the look of sea glass, Karen built the counters out of wood, painted them seafoam green and covered them in resin. Open shelving creates a bright and airy ambiance and keeps all the kitchen essentials within easy reach.

A cozy dining nook sits in a corner of Karen's open floor plan. Wide, white oak plank flooring was laid throughout the home, and to the surprise of her contractor, Karen chose to paint the wood a bright blue. To accomplish this look, she added fabric dye to wood stain. The mixtures created a cool, uneven hue on the floorboards that mimics the surface of the ocean.

For his design of the HGTV Dream Home 2020 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Brian Patrick Flynn left no space forgotten. Even the stairwell is oozing with coastal charm. A green canoe attached to the wall draws the eye like a giant sculpture would, while photos of a beach bring the dreamy blue colors of the nearby shore inside. A blue-and-white ceramic umbrella stand nods to the home's Southern locale.

After several years of mountain locations, Brian got to sink his teeth into another beach home design with the HGTV Dream Home 2024 in Anastasia Island, Florida. Brian transformed an upstairs loft with sweeping views of the marshes into a serene game room complete with four cushy armchairs, a kitchenette and zen blue walls. A woven rattan pendant adds to the coastal theme.

With her Season 4 Battle on the Beach team, designer Taniya Nayak gave the main suite bathroom a subtle, tropical feel. Palm print wallpaper in a light gray tone alludes to the beachy Oak Island, North Carolina, foliage without being too loud. A grand soaking tub is perfect for relaxing after long days in the sun.

In the living room, Taniya and team put full focus on the waterfront view outside. A gathering of comfy chairs doesn't block the coastal scenery beyond the windows, and a fireplace façade made of seashells immediately says "beach house." Custom bookshelves display seashore treasures and conceal a powder room. (The right bookshelf is on hinges and swings open like a door.)

Mika and Brian Kleinschmidt, hosts of 100 Day Dream Home, made this kitchen more functional and welcoming by knocking out a wall, installing a fridge and adding upper cabinetry. They didn't overdo it with a kitchy beachy theme. Instead, to make the space brighter and more modern overall, they swapped the brushed black hardware for shiny brass, replaced the outdated terrazzo floors with light wood panels and added statement ceiling fixtures.

For the first ever beach house battle on Season 5 of Brother vs. Brother in Galveston, Texas, HGTV host Jonathan Scott leaned into a tropical theme with bold palm print wallpaper in the entry. A glass console table lets the wallpaper shine, while white coral lamps and twin stools with rope handles add a nautical touch.

In the living room of the Galveston home, Jonathan took a modern-coastal approach with deep navy walls and a concrete finish fireplace. Low-slung furniture feels midcentury, while beachy artwork and greenery brings back the coastal ambiance.

Drew Scott went lighter and brighter with his Texas house for Season 5 of Brother vs. Brother. A mix of crisp white and ocean-blue cabinets give the space a breezy feel and leave room for the view outside the wall of windows to shine. Wood accents, like the beams and open shelves, are reminiscent of driftwood.

Bargain Block duo Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas injected their signature artistic-boho style into their Rock the Block Season 5 house in Treasure Island, Florida. For the multipurpose bedroom challenge, they brought Bali to Florida with a global-inspired, serene spa-meets-bedroom. Built-in shelving displays books, meditation pillows and yoga mats — as well as frames the oversized artwork, painted by Keith, of course.

During Battle on the Beach Season 3, Ty Pennington and his team gave their Gulf Shores, Alabama, beach house global, Indonesian style. Curved built-in shelves display ceramic vases, while a bamboo wall covering adds beachy texture. The mirrored accent wall cleverly reflects light and the view of the ocean on the opposite wall.

Ty and his team made sure the outside living spaces on their Alabama home were just as inviting as the inside. A double lounger is perfect for soaking up sun or taking a nap to sounds of the nearby ocean. Lush greenery, a woven pendant light and a blue-toned rug make the outdoor hangout space extra cozy.
