Big Closet Design Ideas
A big closet is ideal for implementing the best of storage solutions, and ridding one of the largest spaces of clutter.

Organizing a big closet can be tough because the storage solutions are seemingly endless. One of the best rules of thumb is to design it from bottom to top. This means that your most important, everyday items will be easily accessible and located on bottom shelves, clothing rods or wall hooks. On the other hand, items that are not used every day, like a large kitchen appliance or a container that holds out-of-season clothing will be placed on top shelves.

Floor space is best reserved for large items, like a shoe rack, rolling kitchen cart or vacuum cleaner, allowing for adequate room for you to move about within the closet.
If your closet has a set of drawers, remember to avoid using it as a catchall for homeless items. Many homes have what people call a "junk drawer," but that doesn't have to apply to your living space. Giving each item a home within your big closet will help to maintain organization, keeping your space clutter-free.
