Measure the inside of the top of the basket. Mark these measurements on a project panel and cut with a table saw or circular saw (Image 1). Use a small drinking glass or similar object to outline the rounded corners (Image 2). Cut away the corners with a jigsaw and then sand smooth.

Place the marble tile good side down. Lay the wood piece in the center of the tile and check the measurements all around to ensure it is even. Outline the wood piece on the tile and then remove the wood. Stain one flat side of the wood and the edges and allow to dry (Image 1). Apply sealant to the wood and allow to dry. Turn wood over and apply floor adhesive to the bare side with a notched trowel (Image 2). Cover the bare surface entirely. Place the adhesive side down on the marble tile lined up with the outline you previously made. Use clamps to hold the wood snugly to the tile while the adhesive dries. Wait at least 12 hours before proceeding.
Remove clamps and install marble on top of wire basket (Image 3).
