DIY Kitchen Art How-to: Printed Plates

Punch up your kitchen’s personality with this creative project from HGTV Magazine.

Note: These plates are for decoration only. Do not eat from them or put them in the dishwasher.

Materials Needed:

  • computer paper
  • temporary tattoo paper
  • scissors
  • white plate

Step 1

Go to hgtv.com/diy-kitchen-art to download the pineapple image shown above, then print it on computer paper—it’ll come out on two pages. (To use your own picture, enlarge it and print the top half on one piece of paper and the bottom half on another.) Check the fit against the plates. Once you’re happy with the size, reprint the images on two pieces of temporary tattoo paper, following the package instructions, to make the decal. Cut out the two halves.

Step 2

Following the package instructions, transfer the images onto the plates.
