Dave and Jenny Marrs Take Italy in a 'Fixer to Fabulous' Spinoff
The design duo is renovating a centuries-old villa in the Tuscan countryside — and we get to watch it all unfold.
Dave and Jenny Marrs, hosts of Fixer to Fabulous, are braving the trials of renovating abroad — and we get to watch them in action. The duo is starring in a new spinoff series, Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano, coming to HGTV on Tuesday March 12 at 8|7c.
What is Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano About?
Dave and Jenny journey to Italy’s Tuscan countryside from their hometown of Bentonville, Arkansas, to revitalize a grand villa for longtime friends. The six-episode season documents the Marrs, who first visited Italy as newlyweds, as they execute a monumental restoration of the centuries-old property.
Inspired by the rich history, rolling hillsides and leafy olive groves of the region, Dave and Jenny will rely on the help of local builders, architects and artisans to meet historic building regulations and source authentic materials such as handmade terracotta tiles, olive wood floors and Carrara marble. Bringing this behemoth renovation across the finish line will take all the grit, determination and building savvy they can muster to overcome language barriers, months of delays, budget restraints, looming deadlines and an immense amount of pressure.
“Renovating a house in Italy has always been a dream,” says Dave. Adds Jenny, “But it’s very overwhelming. This is a 200-year-old house in a foreign country, and we can’t take unlimited trips to Italy with our business and kids back home. I just hope we’re not biting off more than we can chew.”
What to Expect From Fixer to Fabulous: Italiano
In the first episode, Dave and Jenny will meet up with their longtime friends, Pierre and Rebecca, who are investing their life savings to renovate the timeworn villa into a charming vacation rental for tourists. As demolition gets underway, the Marrs run into a slew of challenges including a sudden snowstorm, permit delays and building restrictions.
