Stationary Kitchen Islands

A stationary kitchen island truly lives up to its name in that its most useful feature is that it serves as a station for food preparation or seating that is not otherwise available in a kitchen. Think of a stationary island as an ideal place for doing "overflow" work, such as chopping vegetables or preparing plates for guests.
Stationary islands can also provide seating for casual dining, but keep in mind that the average design typically accommodates two people.
