‘Rock the Block’ Season 3 Brings the Heat to Charleston
The home reno show returns to HGTV for a third season on February 28. Get ready for a whole new slew of HGTV experts and some good old-fashioned (competitive!) fun.
It’s time to Rock the Block: round three! In season 2, four pairs of our best HGTV experts battled it out in a home renovation showdown (in case you missed it, Mika and Brian Kleinschmidt of 100 Day Dream Home took home the win). This year, Ty Pennington — season 2 host, carpenter, craftsman and design extraordinaire — is back, and he’s welcoming a whole new slew of competitors ready to completely transform four identical homes with a $225,000 budget.
The fun part is these teams aren’t just like family, they are family. Spouses, siblings and domestic partners will arrive arm-and-arm on the unnamed block with hammers and blueprints in hand. The season three teams are: Atlanta’s veteran real estate broker Egypt Sherrod and her builder husband Mike Jackson (Married to Real Estate); Pacific Northwest twins and real estate bosses Leslie Davis and Lyndsay Lamb (Unsellable Houses); Arkansas home renovation husband-and-wife duo Dave and Jenny Marrs (Fixer to Fabulous); and Detroit-based designer-builders Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas (Bargain Block).
“It’s going to be a blast to see these incredibly talented HGTV stars from all corners of the country — Seattle, Detroit, Bentonville, Arkansas and Atlanta — strap on their renovation tool belts and bring their unique skill sets to this competition table,” says Ty. “The result will be four incredible, entirely customized homes that only add to the beauty and appeal of the Charleston area.”
Obviously, the competition will be fierce. These experts don’t play around. In just six weeks, each team will use their distinct style and creative vision to create the best house possible. And with other HGTV stars judging each room reno — get ready to see some familiar season 2 faces — the stakes will be high. These battling duos want more than just their name on that street sign; they want the glory of a Rock the Block win.
