  • fresh watermelon
  • 1 shot (1.5 ounces) vodka
  • 1 small lime, juiced
  • 1 bottle or can ginger beer
  • 1/2 shot (0.75 ounces) ginger syrup
  • mint, for garnish

To make a watermelon mule, you'll need vodka, ginger syrup, ginger beer, a lime, fresh watermelon, mint, a muddler and a copper mug.

Instructions

1: Add watermelon chunks to a cocktail shaker.

Add watermelon to cocktail shaker, and use a muddler to juice.

2: Muddle the watermelon to make 1 ounce of juice. Strain juice into a glass and discard remaining watermelon chunks.

Use a muddler to juice 1-ounce worth of fresh watermelon into a separate glass.

3: Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Combine watermelon juice, vodka, lime juice and ginger syrup. Shake well.

4: Strain into a copper mug filled with ice, then top with ginger beer.

5: Garnish with a miniature watermelon wedge and a mint sprig.

6: Kick back and enjoy!

Note: If you don't have a copper mug, then this cocktail is perfect in glass tumbler or jar.
