The Dos and Don'ts of Painting Wrought-Iron Furniture
HGTV Magazine has the tips and tricks you need to know.

DO start by wiping down the furniture...
With denatured alcohol or acetone on a soft rag to remove any traces of oil. Then avoid touching the furniture again with your bare hands until you’re done painting. Slip on disposable gloves or use rags if you need to move the furniture.
DO buy an ergonomic attachment...
Such as CanGun1 to prevent finger fatigue when you’re doing lots of spray-painting. This plastic attachment, which resembles a squirt gun, snaps onto the top of the can. Lightly squeeze the trigger to dispense the paint.
DO wear safety goggles and a respirator...
That has the ability to filter out aerosolized paint particles, instead of a regular dust mask. Wear both every time you’re spray-painting, even if the project is small and you’re working outdoors.
