When the air gets cool and the leaves start falling, there’s one thing we just can’t get enough of: pumpkins! There is something so enchanting about the sight of them. This year, maximize your pumpkin potential with tabletop decor made from the real thing.

Set the Table

After selecting the perfect, tiny pumpkin, begin by dabbing around the upper side with gold-leaf adhesive. Once the adhesive is tacky, use a foam brush to spread gold flakes onto the pumpkin. Wipe away excess. Use pliers to bend a short piece of gold wire into a curled shape on one end. Place the pointed end into the pumpkin for an adorable place card.

Blooming Gourd

Select a large, rounded pumpkin. Use a medium-sized, recycled soup can to trace a circle on top of the pumpkin around the stem. Use a serrated carving knife to cut out the circle, then slide the soup can into the void. Just like that, you have the most adorable seasonal centerpiece to tie the table together!

Tiered to Perfection

For this project, select two flatly-shaped pumpkins — one larger than the other. With pliers, remove the stem from the larger pumpkin and use a serrated carving knife to flatten the upper rounded edges. Set a large serving dish on the pumpkin. Using the knife, cut the top off of the smaller pumpkin to achieve a perfectly flat surface. Place the pumpkin on the larger serving dish and add a smaller serving dish to the top. Voila! A tiered, now you have a pumpkin serving dish that rivals even the most expensive holiday decor.
