How to Make a Paint Chip Pumpkin Garland

Materials Needed:
- paint chips (10-20)
- small piece of card stock
- scissors
- small hole punch
- waxed cotton or string
- black marker
Create a Pumpkin Template
To get started, head to the local home improvement store and get a selection of orange, yellow and red paint chips as well as a small pumpkin shape to trace. A pumpkin shape can be found by entering "pumpkin" into the "line drawing" category of Google images. Resize the shape using a photo editing software and print it on cardstock to add thickness for tracing.

Trace, Cut and Thread
Trace your shape on the back of the paint chip (so there won't be any residual pencil marks on the front), cut out, puncture twice with a very small hole punch, then thread onto a length of waxed cotton.

Add Faces
Draw a mixture of jack-o'-lanterns and silly faces on the pumpkins to add character to the pumpkin garland.
Tip: If you don't have your own stash of paint chips and you are feeling guilty about taking paint chips for non-paint-selecting activities, then head straight to the paint counter and ask for their help choosing paint chips.
