Get to Know the Competitors of 'Rock the Block' Season 6

HGTV's fast-paced competition show Rock the Block is back for a sixth season — this time with a twist. Two teams of Rock the Block veterans will battle it out against two teams who are new to the block in the hopes of being crowned the winner by returning host Ty Pennington. Over six weeks, the four teams will utilize their budgets of $250,000 to renovate identical houses (including the largest backyards in series history!) just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. The team whose home gets the highest appraised value at the end of the six weeks wins major bragging rights and a street named in their honor. Ahead, learn more about Season 6's competitors.

New to the block but not to the design business are Down Home Fab hosts Cole and Chelsea DeBoer. This dynamic duo built their own renovation business in their hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The DeBoers plan to bring their entrepreneurial spirit to Salt Lake City. "Our strategy going in to Rock the Block is to really try to be smart with our budget," says Chelsea.

Chelsea and Cole recently renovated an expansive house for their family of six on a farm in Sioux Falls — so they know exactly what families want and need in a living space. "We're really trying to gear our whole aesthetic and vibe of the house to be family-friendly," says Cole.

These two are the ultimate Season 6 veteran duo. Michel Smith Boyd — host of Luxe For Less and an expert at creating high-end designs for a fraction of the cost — is the winner (alongside Anthony Elle) of Rock the Block Season 4. Alison Victoria — host of Windy City Rehab and the queen of stunning kitchens and European flair — is a two-time Rock the Block competitor.

A newcomer to the block on Season 4, Michel and his right-hand man Anthony managed to walk away with the crown thanks to their luxurious yet thrifty design style. After competing on Seasons 1 and 2 of Rock the Block, Alison knows how to handle the heat. In Season 1, she focused on curb appeal and eye-catching architectural elements. In Season 2, she paired up with Mike Holmes to design a round-winning kitchen and primary bath. She never walked away with the ultimate title, but Alison will no doubt use her Rock the Block proficiency to her advantage in Season 6.

Though they're considered Rock the Block rookies, Kamohai and Tristyn Kalama are no strangers to the art of skillful renovations. In fact, it's their specialty on their show, Renovation Aloha — where they flip dilapidated houses around Oahu, Hawaii, with the hope of generating a profit and making home ownership more achievable for locals. "We know where to spend money to add the most value," says Kamohai.

Both native to Hawaii, the Utah climate is new for the duo, but they plan to focus on their strengths in order to take down their fellow rookies and vets. Kamohai is the real estate pro. He has a knack for hunting down the best investments and calculating renovation numbers so the couple gets the most bang for its buck. Tristyn is the design guru. She comes up with renovation plans, selects furnishings and finishes, and stages the homes when they're complete. Together, they've got this.

Brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight are the second veteran team competing in Season 6. During his previous stint on the block, Jonathan competed with fellow Farmhouse Fixer star Kristina Crestin. Though they lost to Michel and Anthony, Jonathan utilized his renovation prowess and New England background to craft a modern farmhouse that impressed the judges. Jordan is new to the series but gained some flipping expertise while helping his big bro reno a lakeside property on Camp Revamp.
