Bobby Berk Turns Clutter to Comfort in HGTV's 'Junk or Jackpot?'

The Queer Eye design expert joins the HGTV family as the host of a new show produced by John Cena. We have all the details.

UPDATE: November 13, 2025

Junk or Jackpot?, featuring design expert Bobby Berk of Queer Eye fame, will premiere on HGTV Friday, December 26 at 9:30|8:30c.

The show, produced by John Cena, will follow Bobby as he hears the emotional stories behind the stockpiles of collectors who are ready for a fresh start. Bobby will bring in experts to appraise the items, then counsel his clients on what they’ll sell to fund the much-needed makeovers.

“This show is about helping people reclaim their peace and sense of self, and it was so fulfilling to help these owners unlock their full potential through this process,” says Bobby. “So many of them were overwhelmed, not just by the amount of stuff in their homes, but by the emotions and memories attached to it all. Helping them find clarity and create spaces that reflect who they are was so rewarding.”

The series premiere will find Bobby at Patrick’s two-bedroom condo — a space overtaken by his beloved collection of marionettes, puppets, figurines and pinball machines. After Bobby hears how the immense trove is affecting Patrick’s relationship with his partner Roger, he’ll encourage Patrick to part with some of the valuable items to finance a transformative overhaul of his main living space and office. Once the pieces bring top dollar at auction, Bobby will bring new life to the spaces — as well as Patrick and Roger's relationship.

Design expert, television host and best-selling author Bobby Berk (previously featured on Queer Eye) is coming to HGTV in the newly greenlit series Junk or Jackpot? (wt). Executively produced by actor, wrestler and entrepreneur John Cena, the six-episode season follows collectors as they discover the true monetary value of their massive and unusual collections.

“Collecting is a personal pastime that brings joy and inspiration, but it’s easy to get carried away which can negatively impact your living conditions,” says Bobby. “I’m excited to help passionate people sift through their cherished items and give them reimagined spaces that will best honor what they hold dear.”

The show is scheduled to air on HGTV in late 2025.

What is Junk or Jackpot? About

The series features homes in desperate need of a clear out — and collectors must decide whether they're willing to sell some of their items to pay for much-needed renovations. Think cabinets and drawers filled with an overwhelming number of superhero figurines; cramped rooms stuffed with rare puppets; and collections of dolls and miniature sets so numerous, they leave no room for life-size furniture.

With a combination of humor, compassion and a celebration of the passionate collector in all of us, Bobby will support the homeowners through the process of sorting through, appraising and letting go of their stockpile, discovering the ‘found money’ along the way to achieving their dream makeover.

"The idea for Junk or Jackpot? was born out of a conversation I had with friends," says John Cena. "People often wonder if their collections are trash or treasure, and this show will help them find out."
