Bobby Berk's vacation property, Casa Tierra, has likely been the backdrop of lots of fun. The Palm Desert, California, oasis — owned and renovated by the designer — is available to rent on Airbnb. And, as you might expect, since Bobby transformed homes for eight seasons of Queer Eye and now does the same on his new HGTV show Junk or Jackpot?, the backdrop sure is beautiful.

We got a first-hand look at Casa Tierra while filming with Bobby. And, in between takes, he took us to his open-air wet bar (right off of the home's expansive stone patio) and whipped up his crowd-favorite elixir: a blood-orange ginger margarita. “It’s one of my favorite drinks,” he says.

Make Bobby's Blood-Orange Ginger Margarita

Start by using blood-orange juice to line the rim of a glass with salt. Put both ingredients on a small plate and dip the rim from the liquid to the salt. Add ice to the glass. After pouring a cup of ice into a cocktail shaker, add 1.5 ounces of tequila to the shaker using a steel jigger.

Follow the tequila with 2 ounces of blood-orange juice, then squeeze a full lime directly into the shaker. “It breaks up the thickness of the orange juice,” Bobby notes.

Combine all the ingredients in the shaker and pour the mixture into the iced glass. Top it off with ginger beer to taste — which, according to Bobby, is a very important step, as it makes the drink “nice and fizzy.” Garnish with a dried and candied blood orange.

How to Watch Bobby on Junk or Jackpot?

You’re welcome to make this margarita as a guest of Bobby's at Casa Tierra in the future. But in the meantime, we're making it to celebrate Junk or Jackpot?, airing on HGTV Friday nights at 9:30|8:30c. Cheers!
