HGTV Shopping Editors' Tested Product Winners of 2026
HGTV shopping editors have rigorously tested lots of products — and here are the winners so far in 2025.
The shopping editors at HGTV are experts in lots of products — some are new favorites, some are products we've used for years and some are the products we've rigorously tested in our homes to make sure they're up to our (very high) standards. Since 2020, we've spent hours trying the best products from some of our reader-favorite categories: cleaning, bedding and household necessities like humidifiers.
What makes us so sure we've found the best? The editorial team is consumers just like you are. And when we say we put these products to the test, we mean not only do they have to be great, they have to be worth using once the test is over. We have pets that love to play in the mud, kids that spill their food and grout that needs cleaning. We live in apartments, country homes, city dwellings — in different places like New York, Atlanta and Tennessee. We use these products for days, weeks and years — and have strong opinions on what makes the best of the best. We are confident these are some of the best products on the market, so keep this page bookmarked to see what we add to our favorites this year.
Our Favorite Tested Cleaning Products
We're passionate about cleaning here at HGTV, and therefore want to make sure the products we're offering you are the very best. Here are the products we firmly stand by, from stick vacuums to carpet cleaners.
The shining star in our Best Pet Vacuums test, here's why it earned top billing: "A best-overall pet hair vacuum should have superior suction, the ability to thoroughly clean all floor surfaces, feature whole-machine filtration and offer tools to clean up high and under furniture. The Dyson Ball Animal 2 checks every box." The editor also loved that it's easy to use on stairs and in corners and that it picked up such an incredible amount of dust and pet hair with ease.
This was a clear winner in our Best Carpet Cleaner test for a few reasons — affordable price, large tank size and easy cleanup. This will tackle an 8x10 rug without having to refill the water tank, and our editor raved over how effective the job was.

Our Favorite Tested Bedding Products
Okay, we love sleeping, too. And we have tested so. many. sleeping products. Ahem — it's for work, okay? If you met us in real life, here are the products we would enthusiastically recommend to get the best night's sleep possible.
A wildly enthusiastic win for Best Cooling Pillows was this Layla pillow, which is a dream if you're on the market for a pillow that feels like the cool side all night long. It's also customizable and super soft.
This unique sleep mask won first place because it was so comfortable, and the patented design made it a really unique find. It also is slightly weighted, which means it can relieve headaces, too.

Our Favorite Tested Household Necessities
A lot of people ask us about the little things that have so many options: have you seen how many essential oil diffusers are on the market today? We did you a solid and tried out a lot of different necessities to make your next purchase an easy win.
A direct quote from our Best Air Purifiers article says it best: "I love that the lowest setting is quiet enough to use while sleeping, and there's an option to turn off all of the control lights if you're sensitive to lights at night. Plus, this thing is great for reducing odors — you could barely tell when I cook salmon for dinner with this machine running." The extras make this a really good deal, like the nightlight feature and the fact that it has three fan speeds.
