What You Need:

  • spray paint (3 colors used here)
  • strong glue, such as E-6000
  • 2-inch-long flathead screws
  • 5/8-inch-long metal spacers
  • small piece of foam
  • nuts

Step 1

Using a strong glue, such as E-6000 ($5, joann.com), adhere a 2-inch-long flathead screw to each end of the back of a long key. Then glue a 5/8-inch-long metal spacer (available at hardware stores) onto each screw. Let dry.

Step 2

Push the screws into a piece of foam so only the spacers and key are exposed. Spray-paint, let dry, and remove the foam.

Step 3

Attach the new pulls to your cabinet door or drawer, and secure with a nut on the end of each screw.
