Blockbuster Appeal: This 13-Bedroom Home Is an Homage to Hollywood

David Bromstad joins Zillow Gone Wild host Jack McBrayer to tour a movie-inspired Florida home that gets top billing.

Grab your popcorn, people, because just when you think you’ve seen it all, we present you with an over 6,000-square-foot home near Orlando, Florida, called Movie Manor. This palatial pad has been meticulously designed with themed rooms inspired by the owner’s favorite movies. And since this place is a little, um, extra, who better to come along and make a guest appearance than the maestro of extra himself: David Bromstad.

From the exterior, Movie Manor does not appear to be anything but a nice, suburban home.

When David appears at the doorstep of the home, he seems surprised that the exterior looks pretty tame. “You said wild house … [this is a] gorgeous neighborhood, very nice architecture, but [not like] anything I would see on your show,” he asks Zillow Gone Wild host Jack McBrayer. But Jack, who knows a thing or two about not judging a book by its cover, is certain that they wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t a good reason.

He is not wrong.

Homeowner Kajal — who works as a pediatric dentist and is around children all the time, plus has three of her own — knew that she wanted to bring that childlike sense of play and fun into her home.

“The whole house was inspired by different movies,” Kajal tells David and Jack as they enter through the very innocuous front door. She leads them inside and then instructs them to explore on their own.

“Oh, that’s a boat!” Jack says as the first door opens to reveal a bedroom that looks oddly and specifically like a re-created scene from the James Bond film Live and Let Die. And that would be because that is exactly what this is. Kajal even has the same kind of speedboat, a 1972 Glastron GT-150, that Roger Moore drove in the movie, only instead of it being a boat, she has had it custom-mounted in the center of the room and turned it into a queen-sized bed. This is what we call fully committed.

Speaking of fully committing, Jack suddenly appears in a black tuxedo, declaring, “The name is Bond … Municipal Bond.” Never one to be upstaged, like ever, David pops out declaring himself, “Doctor Colonel General Gay MD, aka The Senator.” The two of them pose for the camera doing their best leading men impressions. “I’m dressed like a spy, but I feel like a cater waiter,” Jack deadpans to the camera.

The massive house, which can sleep 32 people across 13 bedrooms and 12.5 bathrooms, also features a luxurious lounge that Kajal has coined the “M Lounge, an homage to the recurring character in the Bond films. There’s a full bar, a regulation-size pool table and card tables giving the space a very Casino Royale kind of vibe.

The next space Kajal takes Jack and David to see has a much more PG vibe: it's an ode to the Disney movie, Encanto. The room, which belongs to Kajal’s daughter, features real roof shingles, four built-in bunk beds and a ceiling that is filled with silk flowers and butterflies. Kajal says she worked with interior designer Moe Anato, who “helped turn my vision into this amazing creation.”

The last room on the tour, and the one Kajal says is her favorite, she calls “the adult playroom.” David cheekily looks at the camera and coyly says, “Adult what?” When they open the door, both Jack and David are momentarily speechless. The room features two actual Rolls-Royce cars that Kajal had deconstructed and placed inside the space to serve as truly unique seating for her one-of-a-kind media room. “You can sit where Bond sat,” Kajal explains. “You do it right, you play the screen right, you can be driving wherever he was going.”

Each of the cars parked in the media room cost between $50,000 and $60,000 each, so it is safe to say that this is the epitome of high-brow movie-watching.

David, a Florida resident and a former Disney prop sculptor, illustrator and artist, thinks that while Kajal’s home is definitely putting the wild in Zillow Gone Wild, her design choices were smart. “You know Orlando is a very specific market, especially with it being so close to the parks; you can get away with a lot. This is going to bode well for an investor who wants to have an income property,” he predicts.

“My biggest goal for this house was to have people transported to a different place and have an amazing experience,” Kajal says of the property. Time will tell if this house gets its Hollywood ending.
