Watch a Sneak Peek: All the Details on 'Ugliest House in America' Season 4
Retta is back for another summer road trip. Ugliest House in America returns to HGTV on August 7.
Summer is the season to hit the road and explore the country’s most beautiful destinations, but Ugliest House in America: Summer Road Trip, premiering on HGTV Monday August 7 at 8|7c, will reveal things can get ugly despite stunning surroundings. The new five-episode season follows Retta — a home design enthusiast, as well as a comedian and actress known for her roles in Parks and Recreation and Good Girls — as she takes a road trip to five picturesque destinations to visit 15 horrendous homes nominated by their owners.
In each episode, Retta will tour three homes and share her unfiltered reactions to all sorts of questionable designs, ranging from an overwhelming assortment of fairytale-themed knick-knacks and fake stained glass to miles of terrible tile and carpeted handrails.
“As mortified as I am by the nonfunctional spaces and unexplainable design choices in these homes, I’m also drawn to it,” says Retta. “Like a moth to the ugliest of flames, I need to see and know what the heck is going on in there.”
Based on its ugly appearance, poor functionality and hideous design choices, one house will be crowned the “ugliest house in America” by HGTV, and the network will award its owners a showstopping $150,000 renovation completed by Windy City Rehab host Alison Victoria — which we'll get to see unfold during a special one-hour finale episode.
