5 Sweet Things That Stand Out From Tarek and Heather's Relationship

Ever since Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young met on the Fourth of July in 2019, the couple has been sharing their life together all over social media and in interviews. In doing so, they’ve given HGTV fans a firsthand peek into their budding romance. While every day comes with a new post revealing something about the celebrity couple, a few especially sweet things stand out. Check out what they are, below.

They like to be goofy together.

Despite being an HGTV host and Selling Sunset reality TV star, Tarek and Heather aren’t always laced-up and serious. Instead, they like to be goofy together, being completely themselves with one another.

“...Because there’s nothing fun about being normal,” Tarek admitted in an Instagram post detailing the aspect of their relationship. “Social media’s a little hard for me because I like to post a bunch of different things but it’s also become the norm to only show the “perfect” moments of all of our lives. Well…we’re not perfect and we ALL have weird, silly, vulnerable, and unique things about us so why not just embrace it?? I love @heatherraeyoung because I can just be myself around her: the good, the weird, the crazy, the list goes on but I feel like we don’t really get to show it enough on social media so here’s some photos that were “supposed” to be BTS photos but 🤷🏻‍♂️” ⁣

Tarek is making Heather a staple in the new season of Flipping 101.

Tarek works with his ex-wife, Christina Haack on Flip or Flop. However, he includes his future wife Heather, in his newest solo show, Flipping 101. In fact, he thinks the upcoming season will be the best yet.

“I might be biased (especially since @heatherraeyoung makes a lot of appearances on this season 🙌) but the energy and home transformations are next level this season!⁣” he wrote on Instagram.

Tarek isn’t one to shy away from sappy Instagram posts about his future wife.

Where some couples—stereotypically boyfriends and husbands—veer away from posting sappy sentiments about their partner online, Tarek takes the opposite approach.

“Taking a moment of appreciation for my future wife 🙌🏻🔥 It can be a simple date night and she STILL takes my breath away,” he wrote. “I read a quote the other day that said: ‘If you love someone tell them. Tell them every day and forget about the ‘rules’ or how you’ll look. Don’t let your ego or pride get in the way of being happy’ and that stuck with me. Life’s too short so tell the people you love that you LOVE them!! “

They do a lot of photo shoots together—but they keep it real in the process.

Both Tarek and Heather have major Instagram presences and with that territory comes the need for lots of photo shoots. While nearly all of their pictures look picture-perfect, they’ll be the first to admit that it’s not all that it seems.

“I used to hate photoshoots but somehow you make them fun @heatherraeyoung,” Tarek wrote on Instagram. “My favorite is us cheer-sing with empty coffee cups… very Instagram vs reality of us.”

Sometimes they like to match.

Remember in high school when some couples would try to coordinate their outfits—and not just on prom? Tarek and Heather bring that sentiment into adulthood in the classiest (and most stylish) way possible. For a casual outing in November 2020, the duo rocked Louis Vuitton jackets, albeit totally different prints. It’s the fact that they’re different but the same that makes it especially sweet.
