How to Clean an Outdoor Umbrella
To keep your outdoor umbrella looking its best, regular and routine cleaning is a must.
- water hose
- warm water
- white vinegar
- dish soap
- scrub brush
Begin by removing the umbrella fabric from the frame (Image 1), then lay it out flat on a tarp. Use a broom or brush to sweep off any loose debris or dirt from the umbrella (Image 2).
Prepare a Cleaning Solution
Rinse the umbrella with a water hose, making sure all the fabric is wet. Next, mix together a simple cleaning solution of 2 cups warm water, 2 cups white vinegar and 1 tablespoon dish soap in a bucket (Images 1-3).
Use a handheld scrub brush to clean the entire umbrella (Image 1). Let it soak for 10 minutes. Rinse the umbrella with a water hose and then allow to fully dry (Image 2). Spray down the fabric with waterproofing spray for longevity (optional).
Once the fabric is completely dry, reattach it to the frame and enjoy a fresh, clean outdoor umbrella.
