Easy Kitchen Update: DIY Potato-Stamped Towels
A fresh set of towels instantly brightens up a dreary kitchen. Take an afternoon (with or without your kids) and create one-of-a-kind printed kitchen towels to add some fun color to your space.

Materials Needed:
- a potato
- sharp kitchen knife
- fabric paint
- 100% cotton kitchen towels
- iron

Create Stamp
Cut the potato in half and carve your stamps. Start by lightly “drawing” your design with the knife. Then cut away all of the excess potato around your design. Keep your designs simple.

Stamp Towels
Lay the kitchen towel flat on a smooth surface. Lightly press the stamp into the paint and then onto the fabric. You can stamp your design two or three times before it will need to be inked up again.

Continue Stamping
Create an all-over pattern on your towels by repeating the stamp in rows.

Set Fabric Paint
When the paint is dry, go over the towel with a hot iron to set the fabric paint.
