Contemporary Bedroom With Vibrant Pink Bedding

Vibrant bedding in pink tones is offset by a neutral silk and wool gray area rug. Multicolored artwork and metallic nightstand lamps add dimension and sophistication to this eclectic master bedroom.

Long the domain of little girls' bedrooms, pink is a color more versatile than many would think. From a pale cotton candy to bright salmon to dusty grey-rose, pink evokes softness, femininity, health and innocence. It is considered a soothing color, while maintaining the warmth of red without the intensity. The right shade can certainly grace an adult bedroom or guest room to create a comforting retreat without being frilly.

There is a wide range of pink shades from which to choose, depending on your personal preference and decorating style. For a look that evokes both comfort and sensuality, consider a pale pink with a hint of beige on the wall behind a dark wooden headboard, flanked with brushed-metal light fixtures. If you prefer a more romantic or Victorian look, slide a painted-white brass bed against a wall painted in a dark muted pink, and furnish with sumptuous bed linens and gold-tone light fixtures with crystal touches.

Pink Teepee In Girl's Bedroom

Pink Whimsical Girl's Room With Teepee

No need for blanket forts with this pink teepee which is perfect for private tea parties or camping indoors. Influences from nature are seen throughout the space like a hot pink birdcage, owl prints and a cherry blossom painting.

Brighter shades of pink add a touch of glamour. If you don't want the room to look too feminine, balance your pink walls with a tufted headboard and rugs in mossy green or soft brown, or go with a large wooden headboard. A rich pink with purple tones can create a seductive look in a romantic bedroom. Pink with undertones of raspberry and rose can be flattering to a variety of skin tones. Coral, in the pink family, has an extra note of cheeriness and looks great paired with complementary bright colors, neutrals or whites.

Want a contemporary look that pops? Combine pink walls, in either a solid color or striped pattern, with a comforter and window treatments in black, black-and-white stripes or animal print. For a preppy look, combine pink with lime green. Even hot pink looks cool when paired with a white bed, dresser and other furniture. For an Art Deco look, choose black as your accent color, and choose shiny silver metal light fixtures. For a more country look combine pink with other warm tones and wood furniture, or try cool white-washed furniture. One wall painted a bright pink lends an element of surprise.

If your little girl is set on pink, of course, you can go all-out. Create a princess paradise with a cotton-candy shade paired with lacy or eyelet-trimmed bed linens and curtains, white furniture and a small chandelier. Many older girls like bright pink, which looks great with other colors such as green, blue, turquoise or orange.
