Autumn lovers know that the (actual) most wonderful time of the year is upon us. The cool air, crisp leaves and beautiful sunsets are all telling of the season to come, but seasonal decor popping up around the neighborhood really lets us know that it’s officially fall. Get a head start on your seasonal decor with pretty floral mailbox swag that's as easy to make as it is pretty to look at.

What You'll Need

Keep in mind: Price and stock could change after publish date, and we may make money from these links.

Create Foam Hanger

Cut a wire coat hanger about four inches from the hook on each side. Fully embed the vertical prongs into the faux floral craft foam so only the hook is exposed. Repeat with the second coat hanger and additional foam.

Insert Garland + Faux Florals

Measure and cut leaf garland twice the length of the foam (a standard garland will yield about four pieces, depending on foam length). Starting near the hook at the top, insert garland strands evenly into the foam base until the foam is mostly covered. Fill in gaps with decorative fall floral picks (sold individually in the floral aisle of most craft stores). Finish by inserting small faux pumpkins at the top of the foam nearest the hook, hiding the last bit of green foam.

Attach to Mailbox

Place each swag on either side of your mailbox, then hook together at the top. It may be necessary to bend the hooks to match the curvature of the mailbox. Once the two pieces are in their proper places, hide the hooks with a large bow. Tip: Spray paint your mailbox to coordinate with the season and decor.
