1. Take an Epsom Salt Bath

Both Gwyneth Paltrow and Zoe Saldana swear by soaking in an Epsom salt-laced hot bath (Saldana does her soaking before going to bed). Paltrow likes to intersperse bracing one-minute showers in icy water before returning to her warm soak, and recommends big city folk head to their nearest Korean spa or Turkish hammam for a soak and splash.

2. Drink Electrolytes

James Bond hunk Daniel Craig also heads to the sauna to sweat out his alcohol-induced toxins and includes Pedialyte — used by parents for generations to rehydrate their stomach flu-sick children — in his post-drinking repertoire. DJ Diplo is also a fan of Pedialyte-fueled recovery.

Since alcohol does lead to dehydration, anything that gets non-boozy liquids back into the body is a good idea whether water, juice, coconut water or Pedialyte whose electrolytes help speed up absorption of water.

3. Eat a Protein-Rich Breakfast

Liv Tyler recommends breakfast and the hair of the dog that slayed you the night before. And a big breakfast. Cameron Diaz is of the same breakfast-meets-hair-of-the-dog school, telling Cosmopolitan she prefers a beer and an Egg McMuffin. The Herald Sun reports that Julia Roberts goes for a fancier nip, alternating between champagne and carrot juice the morning after a night of partying.

Everyone has their favorite post-drinking edible hangover cure: a sugary Coke, strawberry or chocolate milkshakes, coffee or tea and lots of water are oft-cited hangover remedies, along with super spicy Mexican food and greasy burgers. Celebs differ on whether a healthy repast or a grease-bomb is the ticket to pain-free recuperation. And there is science behind those choices. Fatty foods slow the absorption of alcohol by the body.

Kate Hudson recommends a very West Coast post-inebriation banquet of tomato juice, fresh fruit, avocado and lots of vitamins, while Nigella Lawson prefers a “prairie oyster": a mash-up of egg yolk, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and brandy swallowed in one gulp. An heiress with very of-the-people tastes, Paris Hilton's post-shindig binge is a Quarter Pounder with cheese and fries. Rihanna likes "ice and Chinese food” when a hangover hits.

Red Rooster Harlem

A huge part of the Harlem foodie renaissance, Swedish chef Marcus Samuelsson’s sophisticated Southern spot on Lenox Avenue is a new classic serving up the kind of satisfying salt and butter and cracklings goodness that makes the impromptu dancing to the hopping live band all the more necessary. Southerners craving a homey fix won’t be disappointed by Red Rooster Harlem's cornbread so dense and rich, it rivals a pound cake and luscious mac and cheese better than your mother ever made (because she never enlivened it with brie or Gouda, for one). If you’re aiming for over-the-top fun, try the Fried Bird Royale for 2, a full-sized bird presented in its original glory before being whisked away for serving that comes with mac and cheese, biscuits and spicy honey. If it’s on the menu, don’t hesitate to order the jerk catfish with black beans, as satisfying a dish as they come. Street corn and Samuelsson’s mother’s meatball recipe define Red Rooster’s South-meets-global style where an equally diverse clientele makes everyone feel right at home.Shown here: Chef Marxus Samuelsson

5. Load Up on Greasy Food

Some combination of eggs and bacon or eggs and pork belly or eggs and ham or eggs and sausage comes up often enough to make us think these celebrities are onto something.

Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson prefers ramen soup loaded with pork fat or pork belly and capped with a poached egg, while Australian pop star Kylie Minogue sticks with basic egg sandwiches and star chef Jamie Oliver likes a double portion of eggs and bacon. Renee Zellweger recovers with a full-on English breakfast including beans on toast. And Kate Winslet told Australia’s Herald-Sun about her post-inebriation meal of choice: "a sausage and bacon sandwich usually does it for me. I also have a big glass of orange juice and a cup of sugary tea. The combination of vitamins and sugar perks me up."

6. Use Exercise to Sweat Out the Toxins

For the truly strong of constitution, a good sweat and some physical exertion gets the lead out. The Dark Knight star Christian Bale likes to go running after a night of drinking. And flapper-era party animal Zelda Fitzgerald (married to the tragically alcohol-fueled novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald) preferred a morning swim to relieve the aches and pangs of bathtub gin and doing the Charleston 'til dawn. A brisk walk can also do the trick.

7. Rehydrate With Coconut Water

Globe-trotting bartender Shingo Gokan, who has served up A-list clients at tony bars in Atlanta, New York and Tokyo, knows his way around a stiff drink and also a remedy for too much of a good thing. "Any soup; clear, not too heavy. And water with lemon. Simple and easy things. When I’m in Southeast Asia I always have coconut water," Shingo told Travel Channel.

Coconut water tends to have less sugar than the sports drinks that many use to help with a hangover, but it has the electrolyes and super-hydrating qualities that make people turn to Gatorade or Pedialyte.

Bradley Cooper's Oscar-nominated directorial debut about a country legend Jackson Maine (Cooper) on the rocks, who helps guide a promising new singer Ally (Lady Gaga) on her rise to stardom is the fourth remake of this classic Hollywood tale. One of the key locations for the film is a rustic Calabasas home that doubled for Jackson Maine’s hip, lo-fi retreat and was recently featured as a sexy piece of real estate on the Curbed site. It has since sold, so lookey-lous won't be able to tour the home, but there are some other locations throughout Los Angeles featured including the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel, the historic Hollywood Roosevelt hotel, the Short Stop bar in Echo Park, the Millennium Biltmore Hotel and Griffith Park, Greek Theatre, Regent Theatre all accessible stops on a City of Angels tour. The Indio, California site of the Coachella Festival, England's Glastonbury music festival and the Stagecoach music fest. The Virgil in East Hollywood where Lady Gaga performs La Vie En Rose and the Super A Foods where Gaga and Cooper's lovestruck characters connect are also great places to stop in a Star Is Born tour of the city.

8. Take Precautions Before a Night of Heavy Drinking

Lady Gaga told the U.K.'s Daily Record she gets started on a night of partying early. “Croissants the morning before a party are good for hangovers. Also green juice, although I still think health drinks taste like feet.” Not a bad idea at all, since making sure you eat and drink enough water or juice before, during and after your boozing can help mitigate a hangover. Some recommend one glass of water or juice for every alcoholic drink consumed.
