Everything You Need to Know About the New Levity x Jonathan Adler Washable-Furniture Collection

If you have pets, children and/or like to host dinner parties, filling your house with washable rugs and furniture with removable covers is key. While the former has become quite popular with brands like Ruggable, washable furniture has remained rather elusive. Levity, a brand that prides itself on being life-proof, is here to change that — and, fortunately for us, the brand has teamed up with famed designer Jonathan Adler to do so.

What Is Levity?

Levity is a functional, modern furniture brand that sells midcentury modern and Scandinavian dining room and living room chairs, stools and ottomans, all of which feature stain-resistant, waterproof covers that are removable and machine-washable. All of the textiles used have been rigorously tested to ensure that each of the brand’s products can hold up to any messes your furniture may encounter. If the concept reminds you of Ruggable, it’s not surprising. After all, Levity is Ruggable’s sister brand.

Jonathan Adler is a world-renowned designer known for his bold use of color and patterns. The Levity x Jonathan Adler collection spans eight statement-making products and 17 eye-catching patterns, including trendy checkerboard prints, bold ink drop variations and unique labyrinth designs. Though, not every chair, ottoman and stool is sold in every pattern. With that in mind, keep reading to learn more about each of the products within the Levity x Jonathan Adler collection.

Levity x Jonathan Adler Classic Lounge Chair

The Levity x Jonathan Adler Classic Lounge Chair is the timeless mod silhouette of your dreams. The low, upholstered design features rounded edges and exposed walnut wood legs for a chair that’s impossible to ignore, whether you put it in the corner of your bedroom, in a pair in your living room or on its own in your beloved reading nook. Sold in six patterns (we love the Bargello Cobalt most of all), the chair has a 300-pound weight capacity and an 18.5-inch tall seat.

Levity x Jonathan Adler Scandinavian Lounge Chair

The Levity x Jonathan Adler Scandinavian Dining Chair might just be our favorite silhouette of the bunch thanks to its timeless design and many textile options. The midcentury modern design is sold in 15 patterns, including a show-stopping Checkerboard Tangerine that we tested firsthand, and two frame finishes. It has a 300-pound weight capacity and a low silhouette, with the seat height coming in at 17.5 inches.

While testing this chair, we found that it was easy to put together (even by yourself) and only took about 30 minutes. Of course, assembling it with two people would surely speed up the process. Once the frame was assembled, the cushions simply had to be slipped into their zippered covers and put in place. Admittedly, the seat cushion of this chair is quite firm, while the back is rather plush. The beautiful design makes it well worth breaking in, though. Something else we love about this statement chair? It holds up very well against pets. Personally, my 11-pound dog, Cash, has claimed it as his own, excitedly jumping on it, skidding across it, and snoozing atop it. All the while, the fabric has remained crisp and his little nails haven’t nicked it one bit.

Levity x Jonathan Adler The Midcentury Tray Ottoman

We also had the pleasure of checking out the Levity x Jonathan Adler The Midcentury Tray Ottoman firsthand and the design is applaudable, to say the least. Sold in 15 patterns and two wood finishes, the ottoman, which has a 240-pound weight capacity, features a multi-use design that’s built to have a cushion strapped on top. The cushion of the ottoman is very similar to the seat of the Scandinavian Lounge Chair, in that it’s on the firmer side. The underside of the cushion has velcro straps that slide through the cutouts on the tray ottoman itself. When the cushion isn’t strapped on, the tray, which has a tablet slot, can double as a lap desk. Genius, no? The only downside is that, since the cushion is strapped on, it’s not as stationary as if it were fully attached. However, even when Cash gets a running start to jump on it, it stays put.

Levity x Jonathan Adler Transitional Ottoman

If you do prefer a fully upholstered design, the Levity x Jonathan Adler Transitional Ottoman is the way to go. It’s sold in six patterns and features the same rounded edges that the Classic Lounge Chair does. Despite its smaller form, measuring just 16 inches tall, the ottoman has a 240-pound weight limit, so it can be used as an additional seat if need be.

Levity x Jonathan Adler Classic Dining Chair

The Levity x Jonathan Adler Classic Dining Chair features an upholstered seat and high back. It’s sold in six patterns and shoppers can choose from three wood finishes for the legs. The chair has a 275-pound weight capacity and stands 39.5 inches tall, with the seat measuring 19.5 inches tall.

Levity x Jonathan Adler Scandinavian Dining Chair

The Levity x Jonathan Adler Scandinavian Dining Chair is a more casual silhouette that features an upholstered seat cushion, as well as a separate upholstered mid-back cushion. It’s sold in 15 patterns and shoppers can choose from two wood finishes for the frame and legs. The chair has a 275-pound weight capacity and stands 31.5 inches tall, with the seat measuring 19.5 inches tall.

Levity x Jonathan Adler Scandinavian Bar Stool + Counter Stool

If you have a kitchen island, a tall dining table or are hoping to create a little bar space in your home, be sure to check out the Levity x Jonathan Adler Scandinavian Bar or Counter Stool. They’re sold in 15 patterns (the Eden Sapphire and Eden Ivory snake prints are sure to add a bold statement to your space) and two wood frame finishes and feature individual seat and mid-back cushions. Where the Bar Stool stands 43.1 inches tall (with the seat at 30.6 inches), the Counter Stool stands 38.5 inches (with the seat at 16 inches). Both have a 275-pound weight capacity.
