We Found 12 Less Expensive Dupes for Restoration Hardware's Cloud Sofa
Get the look for a third of the cost.
Remember the frenzy over that Anthropologie mirror a couple of years ago? It’s nothing compared to TikTok and Instagram’s current obsession with the Restoration Hardware Cloud Sofa. The coveted couch will easily run you about $12,000 as just one sectional component starts at over $1,895 and only goes up depending on the fabric, seat depth and color you select. Yep, you read that right. Just one piece of a seat is the same cost as most complete sectionals and sofas. If the real Cloud Sofa isn’t in the cards for you, don’t fret. We found tons of design dupes that look — and feel — surprisingly similar. Some are total cloud ringers. Even better: These versions are less than half the cost of the actual Cloud Sofa. We even spotted a couple of cloud-like sofas under $1,000! Read on to see which cloud sofa dupe is best for your space and budget.
THE CLOUD SOFA
So, what makes the cloud sofa so popular and cloud-like? If you’re not on TikTok and wondering what all the fuss is about, this furniture phenomenon comes down to two features: The cloud sofa is white like a cloud, but it also features a signature, oversized seat and back cushions stuffed entirely with goose down. It’s basically one giant, luxurious hotel pillow. Unlike synthetics, the down filling creates a super dense cushion that you sit on and then sink into. But vegans and those with allergies beware: Real down = real feathers. The brand Whom has an eco-friendly version that bears a striking resemblance to the OG RH. It uses foam and an alternative down, but, like RH, this sectional is nearly just as expensive at a whopping $10,720 for non-members. The less expensive dupes we found are either all down or mostly down to get as close as possible to the RH sofa look and feel, but our quest for great design on a budget is neverending. We’ll update this article with affordable dupes without down if we find one.
CLOUD SOFA DUPES AT EVERY PRICE
We spotted so many sofas with serious cloud vibes and much more reasonable price tags. These may not be the exact color or the same modular combo, but these dupes are all worthy alternatives.
Sofas Under $6,000
The West Elm Harmony modular sectional is a pretty close alternative, and these seating components start at $1,099 so you can build an XL sectional for under $5,000.
Sofas Under $3,000
The Lotus Low Sofa at Crate & Barrel has the same overstuffed, pillow-style cushions that you just want to burrow in. The fabric is more textured, but I'd argue that makes this cloud even comfier.
Sofas Under $2,000
Anthropologie doesn't always have the most budget-friendly furniture options available, but this 75-inch Upcycled Wells Sofa is actually more affordable than the RH sofa in the same size and is a total gem. This Anthro fabric is a soft grey, however, so it's more of a storm cloud sofa.
Sofas Under $1,500
Target for the ultimate win. The Vivian Park is a total dupe for RH's small cloud couch, and it's under $1,000!
