As a mom of a toddler, I'm always on the go. As soon as they start walking, it seems like they’re constantly on the run. It’s kind of amazing how far their tiny little legs can take them! And with that independence comes curiosity, which means they get into everything. Even in the comfort of my own home, there’s no break. I turn my head away for a couple of seconds to make a snack, and I find my little one has dumped the entirety of her toy bucket all over the floor and has opened every single drawer in the kitchen that she can reach. Holding and carrying her is an option, but I can only do that for so long until my arms give out, and I'm back to square one when trying to occupy my baby while making dinner. When I learned about Piccalio’s Toddler Tower, I knew it could be the answer to all my problems.

What Is a Toddler Tower?

A toddler tower is a durable and sturdy platform that can safely hold your child standing to counter height. It’s generally used for cooking, so your toddler can be by your side in the kitchen in a safe way instead of lifting them up or having them grab onto your legs. You can also use it when cleaning, like at a sink or other supervised activities. It’s meant to bring your child into an area that would normally be off-limits and allow them to participate where they can learn different skills as they grow all under your watchful eye. A great way to keep them busy and out of trouble!

How I Tested

When I recieved the Piccalio's Toddler Tower in the mail, it came in a long, big and flat box but don't get intimidated by it. The assembly was fairly easy and straight forward with clear instructions to follow. You wouldn't have to guess which piece went where just by glancing at it, which made the setup quicker than normal. It took roughly about 20 minutes to assemble, and that included all the screws that had to be put in, that I think attributed to the time. Once assembled, it stood in our kitchen almost like it always belonged there!

My daughter immediately knew that it was something to be climbed on and could not wait to stand at a height that she could reach for things by herself. I've used it for several weeks with my toddler to prep meals, wash dishes and spend time togeher, and can't wait to continue to use it for several years to come.

What I Love About Piccalio’s Toddler Tower

Piccalio’s Toddler Tower was exactly what I needed for my growing, curious child. It’s a safe and easy way to bring her with me into the kitchen and have her not only watch but also take part in meal prepping. It gives her the best way to reach our kitchen countertops, where she can stand side-by-side next to me as I’m preparing breakfast, lunch or dinner. She loves stirring anything in a bowl, and I have recently given her the task of helping me separate the stems from the leaves whenever I’m making a salad. I can tell it gives her a sense of pride and accomplishment when she’s helping, which supports hands-on learning and independence in a safe environment.

And she can continue to learn and be active in the kitchen because the toddler tower is adjustable with three different height options, so it can grow with her! I appreciate that when it’s not in use, you can fold up the stand for easy, compact storage, which is great for tight kitchens or small homes. However, I like to leave it open because my toddler also uses it when she needs to wash her hands. She’ll actually walk to the area where we leave the toddler tower to let us know she needs to use the sink when she’s done eating!

Another reason why I choose to leave my toddler tower open is that it’s a beautiful furniture addition that doesn't cramp my home's style. Crafted from sustainable plywood and pine, the stand comes in five different colors: Birch, White, Sage and Black that fit into almost any kitchen aesthetic. My toddler knows not to climb on it without an adult’s help, but sometimes we do find her using the lower step as a seat and the platform step as a makeshift desk where she pretends to type on it, mimicking her mom and dad whenever we’re working on our laptops!

What I Don’t Love About Piccalio’s Toddler Tower

There are very few things I don’t love about Piccalio’s version, but it doesn’t have to do with the product itself. The brand also sells accessories that can go with the tower, such as the Foldable Toddler Tower Wall Hook, Toddler Tower Safety Net and Foldable Toddler Tower Grip Slippers. These are definitely helpful add-ons to purchase alongside the toddler tower, but I wish they came with the product, because it’s already pricey on its own. However, you do get a Mini Cutter gift with your purchase, and your toddler can use it when practicing chopping and dicing.

Bottom Line: Is Piccalio’s Toddler Tower Worth Buying?

I do believe it’s a great splurge because not only is it certified safe for your child, but you can get many years of great use out of it, since this one, in particular, allows children ages 18 months to 6 years old to enjoy it. And while you can keep a watchful eye on your toddler in this capacity, it also facilitates time to bond and learn with your little one. If you love this Piccalio’s Toddler Tower, you’ll also love their Convertible Toddler Tower version that transforms into a table for your child.
