This Cheap Hand Soap From Target Smells Just as Good as Pricey Luxury Brands
An ode to oud — my love letter to the most luxurious $6 hand soap.
Allow me to convince you that the best $6 you'll spend this year is on a decadently aromatic, modestly priced bottle of hand soap. No doubt, I've paid more attention to the duration and frequency with which I wash my hands than ever in the past year. So, it's not surprising that I've developed a hand soap preference. What a time to be alive! Ready for my rec?
I actually debated whether or not I should spotlight this find because I don't want it to sell out, but, with 152, 4.6/5-star reviews, I suppose my not-so-dirty little secret is already out. So, in the name of goodwill, I'm sharing my absolute favorite hand soap: Baylis & Harding's Oud Cedar and Amber. I seriously cannot say enough good things about this hand soap. When I first opened it, I was blown away by how luxurious it smelled.
The complex blend of woodsy and citrus scents makes this soap smell 10 times more expensive than it is. I always look for oud and amber when I buy scented items (candles, perfume, etc.), so this was a no-brainer for me. Patchouli, sandalwood, oregano and lemon don't seem like complementary scents, but somehow this blend works. Hey, if I'm going to be washing my hands countless times a day, might as well use a soap that I enjoy!
Beyond the scent, this soap goes on smoothly and really leaves my hands feeling clean. It's also made from organic and natural ingredients, packaged with 100-percent post-consumer recycled material and is paraben-free, SLES-free, dye-free and vegan. Bottom line: Buy this now, thank me later. You will not regret it.
More of My Favorites
Don't sleep on the hand soap collection from Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. I'm particularly drawn to this boutique-worthy scent (in a reusable glass bottle!) that is a perfectly balanced blend of earthy and herbaceous scents that I can only describe as a very pleasant fresh, bright and clean smell.
Are you detecting a theme in my scent preferences? I'm drawn to bright, fresh scents (as well as musky, warm and woodsy ones). Method's Citrus Grove scent is refreshing and energizing thanks to notes of bright lemon, orange and lime. I prefer gel soaps since foam is very drying; Method's formula is very gentle on hands.
