How to Make Mini Pinecone Elf Ornaments
Everyone loves an adorable, handmade ornament, and this miniature elf will bring instant cheer to any holiday tree.
- 1 mini pinecone
- 1 small wooden bead
- 1 small jingle bell
- felt, in desired color
- thin yarn
- hot glue gun
Secure Bead to Pinecone
Using glue, secure the wooden bead to the top of the mini pinecone. Make sure the bead’s hole isn’t visible.
Cut Out Felt Pieces
First, cut a small piece of felt that’s about 1/4" x 4" — this is the "scarf." Next, cut out a triangle, giving one side a rounded edge. This will become the "hat."

Step 2- Cut Out Felt Pieces First, cut a small piece of felt that’s about ¼ inch wide x 4-inches long- this is the “scarf”. Next cut out a triangle with one side having a rounded edge. Later this will become the “hat”.
Wrap the small rectangle of felt around the "neck" and glue into place.
To make the hat, take the triangle felt piece and run a bead of glue along one of the straight edges. Bring the edges together and hold butted up to one another until cooled. Run another bead of glue along the perimeter of the hat (Image 1), then place the hat on the bead (Image 2).
Add Bell Hanger
Slip the jingle bell on a thin piece of yarn (Image 1). Trim the yarn to around 8" and tie off in a knot (Image 2). Glue the bell to the top of the hat to create a hanger for the ornament (Image 3).
Using a marker, make two simple dots for eyes on the wooden bead.
