Materials + Tools

  • jigsaw puzzle
  • foam core
  • white spray paint
  • acrylic paint
  • paintbrush
  • pencil
  • permanent markers
  • clear sealant

Put Together Puzzle

Put together a puzzle. Place it on a sheet of foam core and spray paint it white. Add several light coats of spray paint to get even coverage.

Transfer Design

Draw or print out your design. If you’ve printed your image, color on the back with a pencil. Then tape it into place on the puzzle and trace over all of the outlines to transfer the design.

Paint Design

Use acrylic paint to paint your design.

At the wedding, provide permanent markers for your guests to sign the puzzle.

Seal Design

After the wedding, spray the puzzle with a coat of clear sealant.

Make Custom Box & Take Apart

Optionally, spray paint the puzzle box and print a custom design for the front. Take the puzzle apart and put it back together on your anniversary.
