How to Make an Ugly Christmas Sweater for Your Dog

Instead of knitting or buying a holiday sweater for your dog, embellish an existing one using designs from a human sized ugly Christmas sweater.

Tools and Materials

  • ready-made dog sweaters
  • ready-made ugly Christmas sweater
  • fabric glue
  • scissors

Step 1

Christmas Sweater Tree

Cut out the design from a human sweater. (Nothing is uglier to a dog than a cat on their sweater.)

Step 2

Christmas Sweater Tree

Use fabric glue adhere the applique to the sweater. Allow it to dry completely.

The options for embellishing dog sweaters are just as endless as they are for people.  Add decorative trim, sparkles and when in doubt put a pompom on it. If you already have a holiday dog sweater, add pompoms and other pieces of garland or bling.
