How Our Favorite HGTV Stars Rung in the New Year
Happy 2020! See how and where all of our fave HGTV celebs welcomed the New Year, from their home towns to halfway around the world!

HGTV stars certainly know how to make the most of a year. In 2019, they remodeled homes (including the iconic Brady Bunch House!), launched furniture collections, debuted books, grew their families and generally took the world by storm — so it's no surprise that many of them kicked off 2020 in a similar, spectacular fashion.
While we watched the ball drop, clinked glasses of bubbly and danced the night away at Roaring Twenties-themed parties, our favorite HGTV stars greeted the New Year with their own grand adventures, like soaking up some sun in Key West, Fla., and exploring the dramatic, rugged terrain surrounding Reykjavik, Iceland. Read on to see who went where and find out exactly how everyone rung in the New Year!
Christina and Ant Anstead
From Ant's Instagram stories, we learned that the Anstead and El Moussa clans have a special tradition when it comes to celebrating the New Year: They fill a "Jar of Life" with slips of paper commemorating all of the epic things they did that year! Then the entire family (yes, including Cash the French Bulldog) donned their matching plaid Christmas pajamas for a boys vs. girls "football" game in the backyard. (That's soccer, for you Americans!)
Jasmine Roth
Hidden Potential designer/contractor and Brady Home renovator Jasmine Roth spent her New Year slowing down and soaking up some family time as well — down in Key West, Fla! In two posts uploaded on January 1, the mother-to-be showed off her baby bump and shared that she and hubby Brett had a blast exploring the island, eating ice cream and playing cards on the beach.
Mina Starsiak Hawk
Good Bones star Mina Starsiak Hawk has been incredibly candid about her family's fertility journey this past year, sharing updates and photos as she underwent rounds of IVF treatments. On New Year's Day, she posted her "Top Nine" on Instagram, thanked her followers for their kindness and support and spent the day snuggling up with her husband Steve and son Jack.
Erin and Ben Napier
You already know that there's nowhere else our Home Town husband-and-wife duo would rather be than Laurel, Miss. On New Year's Eve, Ben and Erin Napier kindly hosted the kids' countdown of Laurel's inaugural Downtown Countdown, which included a balloon drop and mini fireworks show. Unfortunately, the festivities ran past daughter Helen's bedtime — but we're sure she loved hearing all about it!
David Bromstad
2020 is already proving to be a big year for David Bromstad, host of My Lottery Dream Home. After enjoying a warm and cozy Christmas at home in Orlando, Fla., Bromstad departed for Reykjavik, Iceland, where he then spent New Year's Day exploring black sand beaches and ice caves. From his Instagram stories, we learned that he also took a dip in Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa!
Jonathan Scott
And the award for Cutest Couple goes to...! On New Year's Eve, Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott attended a countdown party with girlfriend Zooey Deschanel, then took this sweet pic the following day, presumably at one of their homes in L.A.
Drew Scott
And finally, what better place to ring in the New Year than in one of the most magical places in the country? Property Brothers star Drew Scott joined wife Linda Phan and family for a day of fun at Disneyland, where they explored the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge area. Then, on January 1, Drew and Linda enjoyed some yoga outside in the fresh air.
