Ali Budd is no stranger to luxury. In the past 15 years since she founded her company, Ali Budd Interiors, the designer has created a portfolio of million-dollar renovations, chic spaces and remote getaways. Her Childhood Dream Was to Be an Interior Designer

Ali remembers loving design as a child. According to Modern Luxury, she preferred building houses for her Barbies over playing with them. She became close with a family friend, who often took her to work and introduced her to the world of design. After that, she was hooked.

She Has Her Own Interior Design Firm

Ali founded her firm, Ali Budd Interiors, out of her Toronto basement in 2010, she told Modern Luxury. Since then, she’s harnessed a team of 10 and completed projects all over the world in cities like New York City, Miami and Antigua.

Ali Is a Mom of Three

In addition to having her own international design studio, Ali is a mom to two girls and a boy. On social media, Ali has expressed wanting to show them what hard work and dedication mean by running a successful business.

Her Alma Mater Is the International Academy of Design

Although Ali briefly considered using her undergraduate English degree to go to law school, design called to her. With her father’s encouragement, she decided to attend the International Academy of Design. After graduating, she worked for a major architectural firm before launching her own residential interior design business.

She’s All About Girl Power

Empowering women is a huge part of Ali’s purpose as an interior designer. Her team is collaborative and supportive, and made up of women who are more like friends than co-workers — which we'll get to see a lot of on the show.

Ali's Style Embraces Contemporary Design With Luxe Touches

Ali has a special talent for creating spaces that look expensive and modern but are also durable, family-friendly and super cozy. She often designs furnishings for her clients, so she's able to offer high-end fabrics, textures and custom sizing without sacrificing comfort. Her designs favor clean lines, neutral colors and thoughtful accessories for a contemporary and luxurious look.

She’ll Do Whatever It Takes to Get a Job Done

As we’ve seen on many HGTV shows, design projects don’t come without their challenges, and Ali has faced many challenges throughout her career. While watching House of Ali, we'll see her tackle tough design decisions, long lead times and — in one episode — an install that required barging over all of the furniture for a house across a lake and using a forklift to drive it up a cliff. Seriously, she’ll do whatever it takes to make sure a client’s home is absolutely perfect.
