Lil Jon is known for producing popular hip-hop songs, but making music isn’t his only major talent. The Grammy Award-nominated artist (turned out-of-the-box home renovator!) will host HGTV’s new series Lil Jon Wants to do What? — premiering Monday May 2 at 10/9c.
“I love walking into someone’s house and turning it upside down,” says Lil Jon. “When people hear my name, they automatically think … fun! That same energy goes for my designs as well. I don’t love following design trends — I would rather be the trendsetter.”

Alongside designer and expert builder Anitra Mecadon, Lil Jon will help skeptical homeowners who feel trapped in a boring home find their design wild side.
Unsurprisingly, Lil Jon’s ideas are pretty unconventional. In fact, his creative vision — to maximize features that homeowners have overlooked — seems almost impossible to execute at times. Luckily, his design team is undaunted.
The series kicks off with a family basement reno for clients who want a fun entertainment spot for the whole family. We’ll get to watch as Lil Jon and Anitra go above and beyond, opting to create an epic club space complete with a chic lounge, wet bar and karaoke stage.
"Who doesn't want to see Lil Jon's creative talent traverse the world of hip hop into the world of home renovation?” says Jane Latman, president, HGTV. “We expect fans to say, 'Yeah! Yeah!'"
Tune into HGTV on Monday May 2 at 10/9c to watch Lil Jon Wants to Do What?
