This Anthropologie Furniture Dupe Is Less Than Half the Cost of the Real Thing
We found a total look-alike from one of the most unsuspecting places.

Remember the Anthropologie Gleaming Primrose Mirror? That was decor lightning in a bottle. And home brands are still making dupes for that piece because it’s just so popular. Well, brace yourself. It’s happening again. The internet is swooning over Anthro's new Fern Storage Cabinet, but it comes with a steep price tag — $2,500 to be exact. So, we set out sleuthing and found a total design dupe that's less than half the cost. Then we found a dupe for the dupe (A double dupe? Inception Dupe?) that’s less than half the cost again. With a little DIY magic, you can get the look of the Fern cabinet for a quarter of the price. Intrigued and ready to save some serious cash? Read on for our savvy findings.
The Original Fern Storage Cabinet
Behold the Fern. This cabinet has a whole effortless cool-girl vibe. It riffs off of multiple style periods with a clean arch silhouette yet ties in some whimsy with balloon feet. The glass doors and marble-topped drawers are perfect for many uses, from displaying china as a hutch or showing off baubles as a wardrobe. Or it could be the most beautiful home bar of all time. It really is a versatile piece. And it looks great in all three colors; however, our favorite is black. The juxtaposition of the lacquered black against the light Ash wood drawers and backing is just stunning.
The Half-Priced Dupe of the Fern Storage Cabinet
We found the closest match for the Fern Storage Cabinet from one of the most unsuspecting places: Anthropologie’s sister brand Urban Outfitters. This deal is right under your nose! If you haven’t been shopping UO’s homewares, take a look ASAP. It’s not just dorm tapestries anymore. In the last decade, Urban Outfitters has really bolstered its furniture and textile collections with more big buys and more wooden furniture. The black Mason Storage Cabinet is an absolute ringer for the black Fern. It doesn’t have the spindle legs but it does have the silhouette, the height and the bottom drawers. You could even drill and install your own brassy furniture pulls to make it more sophisticated like the Fern. If you’re really, really attached to the white or the slate Fern, you could buy the natural Mason and just paint it!
The Quarter-Priced Dupe of the Fern Storage Cabinet
If $1,000 is still way too much for your budget, have no fear. We found an even cheaper almost-dupe at Target. Opalhouse has an arched wood cabinet with the same silhouette for under $450. It’s not black and has lattice-style panels that mimic cane panels instead of glass, but with a little DIY magic, you can change that. If you’re married to the black color, you could totally prime and paint this, and the total would still be under $500. If you’re not into the lattice design, you could replace it with plexiglass panels. Most frame shops can cut this, and it’s cheaper than custom glass panels. Alternatively, you could just make it an open-air cabinet and that would still show off the light wood backing.
