If your deck has seen better days, but you're not quite sure about a full replacement, deck tiles might just be the answer. These attractive, efficient and economical tiles can be used to cover decks or other outdoor surfaces, upgrade their look and extend their longevity.

Most deck tiles are made of eco-friendly, rot-resistant materials, which means you won't need to worry about replacing your new deck covering anytime soon. Another benefit of deck tiles is their easy installation—most varieties simply snap together, so you won't even need to raise a hammer.

Deck tiles also come in various wood varieties, such as teak. Teak tiles can be placed over any flat surface, even crushed stone or garden walkways—and the natural defenses teak has against the elements and pests will keep them looking spritely for many seasons. Other wooden deck tile types that can provide the same effect are ipe and Amazonian cherry.

Lastly, just because your deck is made of wood doesn't mean your deck tiles have to be—stone deck tiles are also a viable option. They come in multiple colors, ranging from green and gray to quartzite and multicolor slate.
