Make your wood furniture looking new again with this easy homemade cleaner.
If you have wood surfaces that have seen better days, spruce them up with this all-natural, homemade furniture polish. Made with beeswax, natural oils and fortified with the cleaning power of citrus, this wood refresher will leave surfaces looking (and smelling) good as new — no harsh chemicals required.
- 1.5 tbs beeswax
- 2 tbs castor oil
- 4 tbs olive oil
- 20 drops any citrus essential oil
- 4 oz tin or jar
- bamboo skewer
Make a Base
Combine the olive oil, castor oil and beeswax in a small microwaveable bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring with a bamboo skewer in between until fully melted.
Add 20 drops of your favorite citrus essential oil. Stir with the skewer.
Pour the mixture into a four-ounce tin and let cool. It will firm up when it reaches room temperature.
Refresh Your Furniture
To use, dip a lint-free rag into the polish and apply to your wood surfaces. Massage the polish into the wood and wipe off any excess. Store at room temperature. Pro tip: Spot test in an inconspicuous area before using.
